Fred Ernest Schulmeyer
Fred Ernest Schulmeyer, 73, Leon, formerly of Lawrence, farmer and truck
driver for Lawrence Ready Mix, died on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, with his grandson Bob Brown officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the mortuary. Private burial will be in the Vinland Cemetery.
He was born April 27, 1936, in Lawrence, the son of Ernest Philip and Louise Katherine Schulmeyer. He married Shirley L. Higgins on May 18, 1968, in Os-kaloosa. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters,
Connie Thompson, of Higginsville, Mo., and Judy Faulkner, of Severy; one son, Johnny Schulmeyer, of Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Brown Jr.; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
The family suggests sending contributions to Shirley Schulmeyer in care of the Fall River State Bank, 324 Merchants Ave., Fall River, KS 67047.

Ruth A. Naugle

Ruth Ann Naugle, 82, of Augusta and formerly of Latham, passed away
Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Thursday and service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12,2010, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Glencoe (Little Walnut) Cemetery rural Beaumont.
Ruth was born on Aug. 27,1927 in Rosalia, Kan.; the daughter of the late Roy Everett and Kate Ethel (Nicholas) Young. She worked on the family most of her life and had been a waitress at the Beaumont Hotel earlier in life. On May 28,1945 she married George H. Naugle in El Dorado and he survives.
She is also survived by: a son, Marvin Naugle and wife Nona of Montrose, Colo.; daughter, Karen Naugle of Port Orange, Fla.; son-in-law,
Jim Huston of Wichita; sister, Eula McCoskey of Augusta; grandchildren, Susanne, Leann, Jennifer, Nicole, Matthew, Brittany, Charles and Stephanie; and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Huston; and sisters, Leatha Snyder and Ruby Young.
