Bertha A. Cox

Bertha A. Cox, 93, El Dorado, died on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010.
Funeral service was held this morning at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado.
Survivors include: sons, Carl Jr. (Rena Kay) of Ramona, Okla., and Jimmy Wayne (Trish) of Augusta; daughters, Carolyn (Dennis) Hoy and Clara (Freddie) Harker, El Dorado; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Catherine L. Kelly

Catherine “Cathy” L. Kelly, 59, of Newton, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday and the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10
a.m. , Thursday, Feb. 11, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Newton.
Cathy was born on Feb. 1, 1951 in Marion, Kan., the daughter of John “Jack” and Betty Herzet Kelly. She was raised in Potwin and graduated from Remmington High School in 1969. She later received her nursing degree from Wichita Area Vo-tech School.
Cathy moved from Potwin to Newton in 1973. She worked as a nurse at the Newton Medical Center and was a nurse at Asbury Park for the last 19 years.
Survivors include: her son, Jason Kelly of Newton; her mother, Betty Kelly of Wichita; one brother J.D. Kelly and his companion, Bill Bischoff of Wichita; three sisters, Kim Wiens and husband Randy of Wellington, Jackie Berryman and husband Gilbert of Wellington; and Leslie Henline and husband Rob of Augusta; several nieces and nephews; and close friend
Mary Smith of Newton.
A memorial has been established with Catholic Care, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.

Velva “Jean” Rathbun

Velva “Jean” Rathbun, 82, Tulsa, Okla., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010.
Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, at Moore’s Southlawn Chapel, Tulsa. Service will follow at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, Tulsa.
She was born on March 31, 1927 in Augusta. She was married to Carrol L. Rathbun on May 23,1953. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: daughter, Kim E. Rathbun; son, Jay B. Rathbun,
both of Tulsa; sister, Anetha (Gene) Forpahl of Augusta and Jo Ann Rymel of Wichita; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to Grace Hospice.

Edna M. Oglesby

Edna M. Oglesby, 90, Crown Point, Ind., formerly of Merrillville, Ind., passed away on Jan. 31, 2010.
Funeral service has been held.
Her survivors include: daughter, Linda (Alex “Buzz”) Christoff of Crown Point; son, Velton (Mary Jane) Oglesby of Augusta; grandchildren, Pete Christoff, Lisa Daniels, and Toni (Paul) Porter; great-grandchildren, Adam (Kelsey), Chase, and Claire Daniels, and Nicholas Cannady.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis L. Oglesby in 2000.

Ruth A. Naugle

Ruth A. Naugle, 82, Augusta, formerly of Latham, passed away this
morning.
Service arrangements are pending with Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
