William D. Guest

William D. Guest, 83, of Wichita and formerly of Augusta, retired Southwestern Bell services manager, died Sunday, Feb. 21,2010 at his home.
Visitation with the family greeting friends will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, at Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Those attending should use the 12th Street entrance.
He was born Oct. 26, 1926 in Augusta, to Harold and Mattie Guest. He was active in Augusta's Little League Baseball program and received the Pop Warner Award. He served in the United States Navy and returned to Augusta to start his career with Southwestern Bell.
Bill is preceded in death by both parents; sisters, Jane Fennell and Jean Porter; brothers, Ed Guest and Jack Guest.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Wilda; children, Carl (Beth) Guest of Rogers, Ark., Carol (Mitch) Echols of Wichita, and Madge (Kelly) Fields of Midwest City, Okla.; four grandchildren, Bill Fields and Michele Fields both of Oklahoma City, Okla., Raegan Guest of Lowell, Ark., Carly (Lance) Shaw of Houston, Texas; one great-grandson, Reid Shaw of Houston, Texas.
The family requests memorials to be given to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of the funeral home.

Mary K. “Kay” Jackson

Mary Kathryn Jackson, 87, of Augusta and formerly of Iola, Kan., died on Tuesday, Feb. 23,2010, at LakePoint Nursing Center in Augusta.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Thursday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel in Iola. Graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, Kan.
She was born on March 31, 1922 in Gladbrook, Iowa, the daughter of J. Andrew and Zella “Pudge” (Horton) Sebbert. The family moved to Humboldt, Kan., where she graduated from high school. She was a registered nurse and received her degree from St. Joseph Nursing School in Ft. Scott, Kan. On March 5,1944 she married Harry L. Jackson in Ft. Scott. They lived in several communities before moving to Iola in 1966. She worked as a registered nurse mainly in nursing homes until her retirement. Her husband preceded her in death on June 23, 1996. When her health failed she moved to Augusta to be near her family. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and the Red Hat
Society.
Her survivors include: Bob Jackson and wife, Marsha, Bill Jackson and wife, Pat; daughter, Jean Shetlar and husband, Lloyd, all of Augusta; brother, Gary Sebbert and wife, Judy of Muscatine, Iowa; sisters, Arlys Sakata of Topeka and Shirley Breiner of Humboldt; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Jack and Bob Sebbert, and sister, Jane Wilkerson.
Memorials are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church in Iola.

Martha Lee Webb

Martha Lee “Marty” Webb, 75, Eureka, died on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Her survivors include: sons, Sam McFall of Augusta and Bob Maclaskey of Grand Junction, Colo.; daughters, Robin Endress and Mary Teichgraeber, both of Eureka; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Ed Brazil; sisters, Jay Samuelson, Mary McGee, Hannah Miller, Pat Komas, and Janie O’Connell.
