Ex-Augustan Died Sunday
Ernest Barb, 82, Spring Lake Heights, N.J., formerly of Augusta, died Sunday at his daughter’s home in Spring Lake Heights
His service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia.
Rev. Gerald Vaughn will officiate and burial will be in Blakely Cemetery, northwest of Madison.
Survivors include four sons, Glen Wayne Barb of Midland, Texas, Gayle E. Barb and Derold Barb, both of Houston, and Melvin Barb of Fairfax, Va.’ a daughter, Wanda Mae Shoppell of Spring Lake Heights; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Rites Pending For T. Ware
Thusay Ware, 88, a resident of Knutson Manor Nursing Home in El Dorado, died there this morning.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Dunsford Funeral Home.
B.E. Arnel Dies At 79
Basil E. Arnel, 79, a resident of the Augusta Medical Complex Intermediate Care Facility, died today.
Services are pending at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bloomington Grove Cemetery in Russell County.
He was bom Feb. 11, 1902 in Eldon, Mo., to Logan J. and Elizabeth Wood Arnel.
He married Margaret E. Lewis Sept. 19, 1930. She preceeded him in death in 1974.
He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include three sons, Jim Arnel of Wichita, Otis Arnel of Newton and Wayne Arnel of Marquette; three daughters, Betty Perry, rural El Dorado, Wilma Burris, Liberal and Mae Dean Smith of Great Bend; a brother, Sterling Arnel of Eldon; two sisters, Myrtle Bingham and Minnie Porter, both of Eldon, Mo.; 16 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
