El Dorado Ex-Mayor Dies At 83
C.A. “Swede” Elmborg, 83, former El Dorado mayor and oilman, died Friday in Oklahoma City, Okla.
His service was at 2 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in El Dorado. Rev. Harold Kieler officiated and burial was in the Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
He was bom Jan. 29, 1899 in Republic to the David and Ellen Marie Hedstrom Elmborg.
He married Clara Elizabeth Hulzey May 12, 1926 in Wichita. She preceded him in death Feb. 11, 1966.
He was the former president and general manager of K-T Oil Corp. in El Dorado. He was active in industry organizations including the Kansas Petroleum Industries Committee, Wichita Oil Men’s Club and the Oil Marketer’s Association.
He served two terms on the El Dorado City Council, including four years (1969 to 1973) as mayor.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara Leonhardt of Oklahoma City, Okla., Betty Dorsey of Danville, Calif., and June Douglass of Kansas City, Mo.; sisters, Edna Willard of Kansas City, Ks., Elnor Elmborg of Neward, Ark., and Althild Simonson of Concordia; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado was in charge of arrangements.

Father Dies In Wichita
Wilton E. Tole, 78, Wichita, father of Jerry Tole of Leon, died Friday at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
His service was at 2 p.m. today at Lakeview Mortuary. Rev. Jack Tammon officiated and burial was in the Lakeview Cemetery.
He was bom July 28, 1903 in Dyersburg, Tenn., to James and Maggie Norrid Tole.
He married Eunice Dillaha. She survives.
He worked in the transportation department at Boeing Aircraft Co.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Hub Rainbolt and Janis Tole, both of Wichita; five brothers, Andrew Tole, Wilce Tole, Warren Tole, all of Wichita, Wallace Tole of Pangburn, Ark., Hughie Tole of Winfield and four grandchildren.

Paul A. Knebler Stillborn Friday
Paul Allen Knebler, son of William M. and Vickie Sue Thomas Knebler of rural Augusta, was stillborn Friday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Elmwood Cemetery. Father James Eatough of the St. Vincent de Paul Church in Andover will officiate.
Besides his parents other survivors include two sisters, Mary Ellen and Susan Jo, of the home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Knebler of Augusta and Mr. and Mrs. George Thomas of Wichita.
