A celebration pf life for Carolyn (Surface) Snider, who passed away on March 30, 2010, will be held at 2 p .m. on Saturday, April 17, at Home-wood Suites, 1550 N. Waterfront Parkway (near 13th & Webb Rd.) in Wichita. For more information, call 260-8844.

Paul E. Cyphers


Paul E. Cyphers, 91 passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010 in Palm Desert, Calif.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. tonight at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Service at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010 at the Augusta First Christian Church. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Paul was born south of Augusta on April 8,1919 to Elmer Elza and Grace Lulu (Harper) Cyphers.
He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a B-25 pilot Paul and his brother, Mike were part owners of the Au-gusa Daily Gazette. He then worked for the Wichita Eagle from 1963 to his retirement in 1984. On Oct. 4, 1942 he married Frances Maxine Swanson in Wichita. She preceded him in death in 2003.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Violet and Doris; brothers, Mike and Jim.; daughter-in-law, Sharon Cyphers.
He is survived by: sons, Stan Cyphers of Fairway, Kan. and Don (Phyllis) Cyphers of Palm Desert, Calif.; grandchildren, Scott (Leslie) Cyphers of LaQuinta, Calif, and Alex (Jen) Cyphers of Denver, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Brannum Cyphers and Clara Anne Cyphers of Denver; brothers, Robert and Dean.

James “Jim” Beach, Jr.

Beach, | James "Jim", Jr., 86, Augusta, retired Chance I Industries customer
service representative, and owner of HRK Warehouse in Marion, passed away, Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at his home.
Visitation with family greeting friends will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 16, at Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta. Funeral service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, at Haverhill Christian Church. Interment to follow in Leon Cemetery.
Jim was born on Nov. 30, 1923 in Checotah, Okla, to Corbett James Beach Sr. and Cora May (Duke)
Beach. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and married Bernice McCombs on Dec. 15, 1960 in Miami, Okla.
Survivors include: his spouse, Bernice of the
home; sons, Corbett James (Sally) Beach III of Wasilla, Alaska, and Jim (Lona) Ball, Oakley, Kan.; daughters, Peggy Gomez (Rosie Guevara), Sherry (Ronnie) Pressler, Charlotte (Randy) Dorr, all of Tulsa, Connie (Tim) Donnelley of Leon, Jan (Steve) Lanier of Augusta; brother, Donald (Margie) Beach of Bristow, Okla.; sister, Lil Stef-fonaff of Tulsa; 24 grandchildren; 52 greatgrandchildren.
Preceded in death by grandson, Tony Gomez; granddaughter, Misty Childs; sister, Margie Beach; brother, Paul Beach.
Memorials have been established with the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
