Jean Pennington

Jean Pennington, 74 of El,Dorado, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010.
Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. this evening at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 23, at First Christian Church, El Dorado. Interment will follow the funeral in Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.
She was born on Oct. 16, 1935 in El Dorado, the daughter of Ray and Veryl (Nearhood) Newsom. Jean graduated from El Dorado High School in 1953 and had attended some College. She was a homemaker.
On April 2, 2004 she married Dick Pennington in El Dorado. Jean and Dick attended First Christian Church in El Dorado. She loved collecting things, especially
anything that pertained to Elvis Presley; country western music, dancing, playing bingo at the senior center, and going to garage sales.
Those she leaves including her husband, Dick of the home are: daughters, Kendra Jantz and husband Greg, Col-wich and Dena Mitchell and husband Jack, Towanda; a son, Rick Pennington and wife Joanna, Augusta; a sister, Doris Cypret and husband Jack, Andover; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her first husband David Kimball; a son, Gary David; her parents; two brothers, W. B. and Harry Newsom, and a sister, Evelyn Young.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials for the First Christian Church.
