Icel Wait Isaacs
Icel Wait Isaacs of Nashville, Term., passed away on July 21,
2010.
She was 91, and had lived in Wichita and Augusta, from 1936 to 2002.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24,2010 at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
She was born May 29, 1919 in Willow Springs, Mo. In 1936 her family moved to Kansas, and she graduated from Wichita High School East in 1937. In 1938, she married Roger W. (Jack) Wait, and was married to him for 44 years, until his death in 1982.
From 1989 to 2002, she was married to Jim Isaacs.
Icel Wait Isaacs was a homemaker and volunteer worker at First Baptist Church and Metropolitan Baptist Church, Wichita, for many years. She was an avid bridge player and a fine pianist. She continued playing the piano until the last year of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Bea Smother-man; her first husband, Jack; and her sister Ilene Smith and brother, Homer Lee Smotherman.
She is survived by: her son, Mark, of Nashville, Tenn.; her daughter-in-law and granddaughter, Deborah and Mia Wait; her sister, Rita Beth Dewing, of Augusta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the outstanding staff of Belmont Village, Nashville, for their superb care of Icel since 2006.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Augusta.
