Jimmy R. Cary
Jimmy R. Cary, 57, El Dorado, died on Satr-day, Aug. 7, 2010.
Celebration of his life will be Cary 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at El Dorado Christian Fellowship. Burial will follow at Kuster Cemetery, rural Augusta.
Jimmy was born Jan.1,1953 in Alameda, Calif., the son of James R. (JR) and Lucille (Skelton) Cary. Jim grew up in Towanda and El Dorado, attending school at both£ towns. After school he t; joined the U.S. Army for £ several years. He was a ~ pipefitter for Mobil for several years. He was c united in marriage to Z Barbara Smith on Oct. ° 25,1994 in Newkirk,
Okla. He collected guns? and coins he loved to watch movies
His main attraction was music, he wrote several songs, one being “Loner.” Jimmy was a member of several bands which included South Bound, Real People and Wind Spell.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; sons, Jason (Melissa( Cary, Mark (Tammy) LaFever, Matt (Andrea) LaFever, all of Rosehill; daughters,
Angie (Matt) Jensen of Augusta and Cheri LaFever of Wichita; brother, Kenny Hacker of St. Johns; sisters, Shirley (Dave) Hollis, Frankie (Greg) Smith, Chris (Kevin) Stanfield all of El Dorado, Connie Edwards of St. Johns; sister-in-law, Judy Johnson of Augusta; many nephews and nieces; nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Frank Johnson and Hubert Cary, and son, Michael LaFever.

Larry Kellogg
Larry “Pa” Kellogg, 66, Augusta, passed away on Saturday, Aug.7, 2010, at home after a four month battle with brain cancer.
A celebration of life was held this afternoon at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Larry was born Nov. 5, 1943, in Pueblo, Colo., to| Wayne and Juanita (Hobbs) Kellogg. Larry leaves to mourn his loss: his wife, Vir-ginia; three sons, Chris Kellogg of Augusta Keynolds and fiance’ Stefanie Fontana of Aurora, Colo., and Justin Kellogg of Raytown, Mo. daughter, Susan Kellogg of Augusta; five grandchildren, Kelli Stewart, Sarah Kellogg and Dale Kellogg of Augusta, Josh and Lauren Cottrell of Olathe; adopted family, Samuel, Sharice and Lily Vance of Augusta; sister, Glenda (Don) Humphrey of Van Buren, Ark.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Mark Alan Kellogg.
Larry was a manufacturing engineer/planner for Boeing in Wichita, where he retired. He worked in the airline industry all his life, beginning at O and F Machining in Joplin, Teledyne in Neosho, Mo., Sundstrand Aviation in Denver, Colo, and York, Neb., Western Gear in City of Industry, Calif., General Dynamics and Bell Helicopter in Ft. Worth, Texas. After retiring from Boeing, he went to work at Country Club Tower in Augusta, as maintenance technician where he accumulated many "lady friends" through the years. He was an avid fan of the Augusta Stars traveling softball team, on which his granddaughter played and all the girls on the team were special to him.
Larry will be cremated and his ashes taken to his beloved Colorado mountains in Pitkin, Colo., where he has vacationed sirice he was 5 years old. His dream was to retire there and now he can rest in peace there, knowing that's where he'll forever be.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S.market, Wichita, KS 67202; or the American Legion Riders Post 406, Via Headley Funeral
Augusta, KS 67010. Condolences may be sent to the family at 332 Columbia, Augusta, KS 67010.

Visitation with family 6-8 p.m., Thursday. Funeral services 10 a.m., Friday, both at Broadway Mortuary Chapel, Wichita.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Akins.
Survivors include: his son, Steven Akins of Leon; mother, Tanga Akins of Wichita; sisters, Jo Ann (Bob) Briner of Wichita, Joy (Dennis) Haig of Andover, Jamie (Ted) Pranion and Clarissa Rodriguez, all of Wichita; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Akins.
