Everett Gardner Dies At AMCI
Everett Lee Gardner, 83, 439 E. 12, died today at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Frank Miller will officiate.
He was born March 19, 1901 in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Albert and Betty Long Gardner.
He married Leatha Polk April 18, 1925 in El Dorado. She survives.
He was a retired Mobil Refinery employee and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Other survivors include a son, Jack of Pratt; daughters, Betty Greenwood of Shawnee, Bonnie Wolfe of Homer, Mich., Joyce McCoy of Baton Bouge, La.; sisters, Anna Kent of Wichita, Dorothy Filmezger of Gladstone, Wash., Myrtle Robinson of Springfield, Mo., 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Ernest and Bill, and two sisters, Vernal Davis and Minnie Porter, preceded him in death.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Dawn Griffin Dies At Hospital
Dawn Griffin, 36, rural Douglass, died Thursday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the DeVorss Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. Roger Roberts will officiate. There will be a cremation.
She was born June 18, 1947 in Wichita to Earl and Mary Jantz Howard.
This homemaker is survived by her father, Earl Howard; mother, Mary Copeland; and a brother, Joe Stephens, all of Tampa, Fla.

Donald W. Kaps Dies In Missouri
Donald W. Kaps, 52, Jefferson City, Mo., brother of Dick Kaps of Augusta, died this morning at his home.
Funeral services will be Monday in Jefferson City.
He was born March 29, 1931 in Bunker Hill to Carl and Margaret Mahoney Kaps.
He was an employee of United Telephone Co. in Jefferson City Survivors include his wife, Betty; four children; mother, Margaret Kaps of Russell; other brothers, Bob of Spring Hill and Larry of LaPalma, Calif., and sisters, Frances Hoffman of Russell and Ruth Meharg of Hoisington.

Mother Dies In Wichita
Minnie Schnittker, 75, Kingman, mother of Calvin Schnittker of Douglass, died Friday at the Lakewood Center Nursing Home in Wichita.
Her service was at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kingman. Father Patrick Larkin officiated and burial was at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Kingman.
She was born May 15, 1908 in Kohoka, Mo., to James C. and Minnie Clark Royse.
She married Louis J. Schnittker Oct. 20, 1931 in St. Leo. He preceded her in death Aug. 30,
1971.
Other survivors include a daughter, Darlene of Wichita; sisters, Callie Winter of Pratt; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Kathleen E. Gill Funeral Tuesday
Kathleen E. Gill, 60, Wellington, mother of Buddy Gill of Perry, Okla., formerly of Augusta, died Saturday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. yesterday at the First Christian Church in Wellington. Rev. Lester Myers officiated and burial was in the Sumner Memorial Gardens there.
Memorials have been established with the American Cancer Society and the Wellington Golf Course Trust Fund.
She was born Aug. 14, 1923 in Parkersburg, Ill., to Everett and Lena Cokely Stevens.
She married Gerald E. Gill Nov. 27, 1947 in Olney, Ill. He survives.
The Gills operated the Wellington Golf Course for the last 15 years.
Survivors also include another son, Stephen Gill of Wellington; daughters, Susan Byler of Wellington, Gayla Gill of Overland Park; her mother, Lena Stevens of Normal, Ill.; brothers, Lloyd of Olney, Ill., Gail of San Francisco, Bill of Grand Terrace, Calif.; a sister, Ruby of Normal, and seven grandchildren.
