‘Doc’ McFaddin Dies At 76
Milton D. “Doc” McFaddin, 76, Douglass, died Tuesday at his home.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Douglass United Methodist Church. Rev. Janet Sevier will officiate and burial will be in the Mulvane cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Douglass United Methodist Church.
He was born Aug. 23, 1907 in Winfield to Earl D. and Bessie Holt McFaddin.
He married Ruth Morton June 9, 1929 in Udall. She survives.
This retired farmer and welder is also survived by sons, Ned of Petaluma, Calif., Kim of San Ramon, Calif., Dee of Wichita; a brother, Earl LeRoy of Topeka; a sister, Nadine Ashmore of Wichita, and five grandchildren.
The Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass is in charge of arrangements.

William Kinder Dies At 47
William “Bill” Kinder, 47, El Dorado, father of Michael Kinder of Augusta, died Saturday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. Paul Olson will officiate and burial will be in the Moline (Kan.) cemetery.
He was born July 11, 1936 in Moline to George Lee and Elizabeth Beachner Kinder.
He was a chemist for the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Other survivors include a daughter, Michelle of Udall; mother, Elizabeth of Moline; brothers, James Lee of Emporia and Robert Eugene of Topeka.
Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth E. Franks Dies At Hospital
Ruth Elizabeth Franks, 74, El Dorado, formerly of Augusta, died early today at Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery here.
She was born March 6, 1910, in Sallisaw, Okla., to Simon J. and Mary M. Hill Sutton. She married Howard T. Franks in Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death in November 1982.
She moved to El Dorado 5 1/2 years ago from Augusta, where she spent most of her adult life.
Survivors include two sons, Jessie R. “Bob” of Killeen, Texas and Raymond of Augusta; three daughters, Velva Lea Rosiere of Wyandotte, Okla., Opal Wartick and Veleda Ott, both of El Dorado; two stepchildren, Howard Jr. of New Braunfels Texas and Thelma Dominy of Corpus Christi, Texas; two brothers, Clayton Sutton of Blythe, Calif. and S.J. Sutton of St. Louis; two sisters, Lillie Marshall of Augusta and Ida White of St. Louis; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Edith M. Clark Died Saturday
Edith Marie Clark, 73, Augusta, died Saturday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her graveside service was at 2 p.m. today at the Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Burl Allison Jr. officiated.
She was born Aug. 27, 1910 in Altoona to Clarence and Susan D. Hooper Falwell.
She married Richard M. Clark Aug. 14, 1934 in Newton. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Survivors include brothers, Foster and Roy Falwell, both of Augusta.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ernest Flaming Dies In California
Ernest B. Flaming, 84, father of Horton Flaming of Augusta, died Friday, March 30, at the Sierra View nursing home in Reedley, Calif.
His funeral will be 10 o’clock tomorrow morning at the First Mennonite Church of Reedley with Rev. Claude Boyer officiating and burial in the Reedley cemetery.
Memorials to the Sierra View nursing home have been suggested. The Cairns Funeral Home of Reedley is in charge of arrangements.
Flaming was born April 18, 1899 at Corn, Okla., and relocated to Reedley in 1940. He was a retired commercial grain businessman.
He was a member of the First Mennonite Church at Reedley and taught Sunday School there for many years. He was also a member of the men’s brotherhood at the church.
In addition to his son here, Flaming leaves his wife, Bertha of Reedley; another son, Vernon Flaming, also of Reedley; a stepson, Richard Moffit of Etna, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Donna Schroeder of Merced, Calif., and Alberta Schlundt, Sanger, Calif.; two brothers, Fred and Alvin Flaming, both of Weatherford, Okla.; a sister, Lydia Suderman, also of Weatherford; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
