Carlos Benjamin Sr.
Carlos Gene Benjamin Sr., 73, Wichita, retired from Sigma-Tek of Augusta, died on Oct. 3, 2010.
A celebration .of life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at Westside Freewill Baptist Church, Wichita.
He is survived by: his wife, Judy Benjamin; children, Carlos Benjamin, Jr., (Mary) of Prescott, Ariz., Michael Benjamin (Janet) of Mesa, Ariz., Dona Flynn (Patrick) of Wichita, Robin Valadez (Ray) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Julie Quinn (James) of Wichita; sisters, Joyce Gray (Edwin) of Augusta and Rosanne Cox of Texas; 13 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Rozetta Benjamin and grandson, Justin Gray.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Benevolent Fund of Graceway Community Church, 200 S. St. Clair, Wichita, KS., 67213 or the American Cancer Society.

Paul Eugene Whitted, Jr., 54 of Atlanta, died Sunday, Oct 10, 2010 at his residence.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at his daughter’s residence (1302 S. K St.) In Arkansas City.
He is survived by: his children, Amie Jean Whitted and Candida Marie Holmes of Arkansas City, Fillip Eue-gene Whitted of Wichita; sister, Valerie Ann Guerrero of Goessel; ten grandchildren, five nieces, four nephews and one great niece.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents,
Paul E. Whitted, Sr and Maryln E. (Scheideman) Whitted and wife, Jean L. Lewis Whitted.

Sam Irwin
Sam Irwin of Augusta, died on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at Golden Living Nursing Home.
The celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at the First Baptist Church in Augusta. Cremation will precede the services.
Sam was born Aug. 1, 1927 in Vilas, Kan. near Chanute, the son of Everett and Edna (Neptune) Irwin. He graduated in 1945 from the Vilas High School. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and served his country during WWII. He returned to Vilas and married Bertha Yarnell in 1948. They lived in Whitewater, Towanda and Augusta. Sam was a retired shift supervisor with Texaco Refinery.
Memberships included the First Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the American Legion. Hobbies included a woodworking shop and traveling on bus trips.
Surviving family include: his wife, Bertha; one son, Rex and wife Denise Irwin of Wichita; daughter, Linda and husband Kirk Merrill of Federal Way, Wash.; three grandchildren, Jacquelin Irwin, Kimberly and Samantha Merrill; and a special friend, Sophia.
A memorial has been established with the Alzheimers Association.

Carl E. Christensen, age 70, Wichita, retired manager for Rental Exchange, passed away on Oct. 10, 2010.
The visitation with the family present will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, in the Garden Chapel of Watson Reflection Pointe, Wichita, with services at 10 a.m., Friday, at Midway Baptist Church, Wichita.
He is survived by: wife, Barbara; son, Carl (Brenda) Christensen, Kechi; daughters, Shelly (Tim) Mercer, Wichita, Karen (Marc) Todd, Andover; brother, Kenneth (Liz) Christensen, Hammond, La.; sisters, Ethel Schulze, Irving, Texas, and Edna Patton, Conway, Ark.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way.
