Clyd L. Casteel
Clyde L. Casteel, 94, of Augusta, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 23,2010.
Visitation 6-8 pm and service 1:30 pm Saturday, Nov. 27. at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Garfield Cemetery Garfield, KS.
Clyde was born in Bridge-water, Iowa on Nov. 1, 1916, the son of the late Asa and Coral (Stewart) Casteel.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and then retired from operations at Mobil Oil after 35 years. He also ran a lapidary shop and was a welder.
On Aug. 24,1969 he married June (Countryman) Mead in Augusta and she survives.
He is also survived by sons, Sidney Richard Casteel (Liza) of Wichita and Bruce Casteel of Hutchinson; daughter, Mary Lenora Aguilar (Richard) of Eudora; step sons, Michael Mead and Ronnie Mead (Connie) all of Augusta; step daughters, Terri Smith (Loel) of Douglass; Patricia Alfrey of Augusta; and Virginia BeAney (Michael) of Fort Collins, CO; former daughter-in-laws, Barbara Casteel of Newton and Sylvia Casteel of Ottawa; 10 grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 14 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Darrell and Leon CasteeL

Lowell ‘Hayden’ Rush
Lowell "Hayden" Rush, , 78, passed away Tuesday, Nov.23,2010 at the Kansas Veteran's Home in Winfield.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, in the Douglass Cemetery at Douglass.
He was born Jan. 21,1932 in Melbourne, AK.. to John Matthew and Della Lillian (Finley) Rush.
He worked in the oil fields, had a fix-it shop and a small engine repair business where he also made keys.
Hayden loved to read his Bible and preach and also loved 3 Musketeer candy bars!
He served in the U.S., Navy in Korea.
Survivors include his brother and his wife John and "Jimmie" Rush of Wichita; children Lowell and Lola of Texas and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Jay; brothers Ray, Otto, Robert and Otis Rush; sisters May Wolf, Ovita White, Eunice Brandon and Imodene Hadlow.

Ray Stevens, 81, of Augusta, passed away Monday, Nov. 22,2010.
There will be no services.
Ray was born in Wichita, Kansas on May 17, 1929, the son of the late Clyde A. and Mildred (Stinnet) Stevens. He retired as a manager from Mobil Oil after 38 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise (Haaga) Stevens of 52 years.
He is survived by his son, Rex Stevens of Arkansas City.

Colleen Cox
Colleen Cox, 59, Augusta, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, due to complications from MS. She was held in the loving arms of her family, friends, and dogs with many tears, but also lots of laughter, just the way she wanted it.
Colleen was born June 15,
1951 in Tulsa, Okla, to the late James and Patricia Kirkland.
She moved to El Dorado in May, 1962, attended 6th grade at Skelly School. El Dorado Junior rom El Dorado High School in May 1969. In July 1969 she married James R. Cox in El Dorado and he survives.
She is also survived by: daughters, Gretchen Cox of Roeland Park, Kan., and Lainie Cox Rawlings (Jarrod) of Augusta; sister, Billee Kirkland Douglass (William) of El Dorado; grandchildren, Katelyn Cox, 7, Gracyn Cox, 3, and Chase Rawlings, 1.
She was employed in the medical field most of her working life, always having a love of medicine. Her Multiple Sclerosis was diagnosed at the age of 27, but she felt fortunate to have so many good, active years.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27,2010, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Memorials to Kansas Humane Society in Wichita.
