Wendy Arnold

Wendy Jean Arnold, 37, Augusta, passed away Monday, Nov. 29,2010.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. Friday and service 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Wendy was born in Denver, Colo, on Feb. 3, 1973, the daughter of Robert Keith and Leah Lorene (Ferren) Hess, who survive.
She was a parts inspector at Spirit and Kaman Composites.
She is also survived by sons, Dylan and Clay Gillis of Augusta; daughters, Jamison Gillis and McKartneigh Lynn-Michelle Arnold of Augusta; partner, Chad Price of Augusta; grandmothers, Doris C. Ferren of El Dorado and Dorothy Hess of McPherson; sister, Meridee Lynn Briggs and husband Erik of Snohomish, Wash.; nephews, Mason, Hayden and Caelan.

Arlene Scribner

Arlene Scribner, 89, of El Dorado, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at Lake-point in Augusta.
The celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2010. at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home Chapel, El Dorado. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.
Arlene was born April 22,1921 in Lampassas, Texas, the daughter of Charlie and Helen Hartley Landers. She came to El Dorado when she was seven years old. She attended school in El Dorado and graduated with the Class of 1940 from the El Dorado High School. She received additional schooling at the cosmetology school. She opened Arleneā€™s Beauty Salon and worked there for 56 years. On Dec. 29, 1945 she married Harold Scribner. He preceded her in death in 1996.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, and the Kansas Cosmetoligists Association. She loved to take care of her flower garden, paint, and her family.
Surviving family include: two sons, Jim and wife Rita of Emporia,
Sam and wife Marcy of Augusta; daughters, Judy of El Dorado, Marlene and husband Craig Alley of Benton; grandchildren, Jason Shandler,
A.Z. Scribner and Samantha Scribner; one great granddaughter, Pepper Scribner.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
Contributions may be left with the Kirby-Mor-ris Funeral Home, El Dorado.
