Betty L. King

Betty L. King, 95, Wichita, passed away Friday, Dec. 3,2010.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 2525 N. Rock Rd., Wichita.
Betty was born Nov. 6, 1915, to John and Grace (Beatty) Holcomb in Douglass, Kan. She was married to Brown King on Nov. 13,1935.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three sisters: Marquerite Jackie (Edward), Shelia Conder (Lloyd), and Nadine Woody (Milton).
Her survivors include: sons, Tom King (Rosie) of Lakewood, Colo., and Ted King (Ruth) of Wichita, Kansas; 8 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with Calvary UMC Youth Mission Fund.
Arrangements by Affinity All Faiths Mortuary, Wichita.


Dalfred McCoy

Dalfred Eugene McCoy went to Heaven be with the love of his life, Dorothy. He died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2010.
Visitation 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Graveside service 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at Highland Cemetery, Iola.
He was born March 24, 1923 in Iola, Kan. to Eugene and Virginia (Land) McCoy. He was a 1943 graduate of Iola High School. He was a survivor of the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl. He was a veteran of War World II and Korea. He had many jobs; Katy Railroad,
Tulsa Department Store, Humboldt Brick, Model Wholesale Grocery, Construction and Gates Rubber Company. He married Dorothy Adelaide Wood on March 12, 1950 in Iola. He and Dorothy spent most of their married life in Iola. He moved to Hiawatha in 1986 to be near his daughter Nancy, then moved to Wamego in 1989, and came to Andover in 1991 to be near his daughter Linden. Dalfred had a very sharp mind and an excellent memory until the very end of his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife,
Dorothy and a brother Howard.
He is survived by: his
daughters, Linden (Dan) Gentry, Andover, and Nancy (Ron) Heiniger, Edenton, NC; grandchildren, Coe and Danielle Gentry, Ryan (Carey) Heiniger, Natalie (Kevin) Briggs and Nastacia (John) McArthur; two great-grandchildren, Jackson Heiniger and Nakayla McArthur; a sister, Pat Conover, Grover Beach, Calif.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Children's Miracle Network or St. Jude's Research Hospital.
