A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m Thursday, Dec. 16, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Bob was the oldest son of Lancy and Ethel Huddleston, and was born in South Dakota, Aug. 3, 1936. While just a young boy, the family moved to Oklahoma but at the outset of WWII, they moved again to Kansas. The family settled in Augusta so that Bob's father could work at Boeing. Following high school, he served with the Army Reserves and found employment in the aircraft industry, working for Cessna for many years. Due to layoffs,
Bob received training and became a certified nurse's aide. He worked in nursing for 12 years, retiring in 1993, at which time he moved to Madill, Okla, in order to be closer to family members. He moved back to Augusta in 1998, but in 2003 suffered a heart attack and a stroke, so
once more he moved to Oklahoma to be closer to family members.
Bob enjoyed people. He never met a stranger and he looked forward to coffee times with friends and being with family.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, and was baptized in Augusta in 1959.
His passing is mourned by: brother, Don Huddleston of Ponca City; sister, Shirley Rose of Forsythe, Mo.; five nephews and nieces; numerous cousins and two favorite aunts.
