William ‘Bill’ Edmunds

William "Bill" John Edmunds, 56, welder and mechanic of Augusta, passed away, Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 in Augusta.
Memorial graveside service on Monday, May 30, 2011 (Memorial Day) at Highland Cemetery, Wilsey, Kan.
Bill was born in Herrington, Kan. on Oct.16, 1954, to John Edmunds and Betty Margaret (Ver-milyea) Komp.
He is survived by: his mother and step father, Betty and Ed Komp; daughters, Christy Fahrer and husband Scott, and their children Preston and Sophia; Jessica Anderson and husband Thomas and their children TJ, Chloe, Kait-lyn and Madison; son, Michael Edmunds; sister, Connie Clark and her children Justin, Brandon and Jennifer.

Donald A. Wentz


Donald A. Wentz, 90, of Augusta, passed away Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 at his home.
Visitation 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Service 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 at the First Christian Church, Augusta. Military graveside rites will follow at Leon Cemetery, Leon.
Donald was born in Leon, Kan. on Aug. 30, 1920 to Artie McKinley and Mary Florence (Ward) Wentz. He retired as an Instrument Shop Foreman from Mobil after 38 years. He was a member of First Christian Church, Augusta Historical Museum and Great Plains Woodcarvers and had been a Boy Scout troop leader. Donald served in the U.S. Army during WWII under General Patton and was one of the "Iron Men of Metz.” On Jan. 9,1942 he married Nelva Seaburn in Augusta and she survives.
He is also survived by: son, David Wentz and wife Bethel of Augusta; daughter, Trudy Jacobson of Augusta; grandchildren, Eric L. Jacobson of San Diego, Calif, and Aaron W. Jacobson (Roberta) of Lohman,
Mo.; great grandchildren, Hannah and Hailey Matthews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Sara Beth, Cecilia Marie and Rachel Ashley Wentz; and sisters, Mary Winzer and Patricia Ann Stanley.

Survived by: sons, Marc (Caroline), Haysville, Charles Jr. (Cindy), Edgerton, and Eric Crooks, Wichita; daughters, Charlene (Dan) Keith, Maize, and Darcy Crooks, Haysville; sister, Carolyn Little, Augusta; brothers, Wayne Burke, Valley Center, and Lynn Burke, Wichita; 16 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Keith L. Moore

Keith Lealand Moore, 68, of Beaumont, died Saturday Jan. 15, 2011.
Visitation with family will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21; service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 22, both at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado.
Survivors include: daughter, Heather Moore of Ft. Worth, Texas; son, Heath Moore of Burden; sisters, Joann (Don) Chapman of Little Rock, Ark., and Karen (Ed) Beckerman of Garden City; brothers, Sonny of El Dorado, and Dwight (Peggy) of Douglass; one grandson.
