Jess ‘J.W.’ Simmons
Jess W. "J.W." Simmons, 78,'local retired businessman and rancher, passed away Tuesday morning Feb. 22, 2011.
Visitation 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. A celebration of his life will be at 10 a.m.. Friday, Feb. 25, First Baptist Church, 1501 State Street, Augusta.
Jess was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Opal Simmons of Severy, Kan.
He is survived by: his wife Vicki of 50 years; brother, Lewis Simmons (Joann) of Augusta; sister, Joyce Mann (Bob) of Denver, Colo.; daughters, Sandy Doyle (Chris) of Andover, Sheila Cole (Terry) of Wichita, and Sherri Lynn Poston (Geoff) of Lawrence; son, Scott Simmons (Julie) of Augusta; grandchildren, Sean, Devin, Talen, Laryn and Trey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Southern Baptist Church, 2206 Ohio, Augusta, KS 67010.

Michael O. “Mike” Breckenridge, 60, retired master painter and U.S. Army veteran, Aurora, Colo., died on Feb. 20, 2011.
A celebration of life will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, at the Aurora Meadows Apartment Clubhouse in Aurora, Colo.
Mike is survived by: daughter Jade Aspen Aguiluz (Cris); son, Graeme Michael Breckenridge, three grandchildren; brothers, Johnnie W. Jr. of Andover and James L. (Nancy) Wichita; sister, Karen Cross (Bob) of Wichita.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations sent to Agape Hospice Services located at 6041 South Syracuse Way, Suite 220, Greenwood Village, CO 80111.
