Dorothy Fiy
Dorothy Mae (Baum) Fry, 94, formerly of Augusta, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Medicalodge in Goddard.
Viewing will be from 12:30 -1 p.m., prior to the graveside service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. (Ohio St. entrance). Dorothy’s son, Rev. Lowell Fry, Jr. will be officiating.
Dorothy was born to Orbra and Goldie Mae (Russell) Baum on Aug. 9, 1916 in Winfield. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1935 and married Lowell Lawrence Fry, Sr. on April 28,1941, in Newkirk, Okla. Dorothy worked in the Kaiser Shipyards during World War II in Oakland, Calif. She also worked for Beech, Boeing, and Load-craft in Augusta.
The Frys were members of the Rose Hill Christian Church, Augusta First Christian Church, and the Conestoga R.V. Club.
Survivors include: her son and his wife, Lowell, Jr. and Cindy Fry of Wentzville, Mo.; daughter and her husband, Shirley and Robert Clark of Wichita; brother and wife, Wendell and Reta Baum of Kearney, Mo.; sister, Mildred Denman of Wichita; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchi ldren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse and three siblings.
A memorial has been established with Vision Christian Church, Foristell, Mo-., in care of Dunsford Funeral Home & Crematory, Augusta.
