Florence Ellis dies at 66
Florence Irene Ellis, 66, Route 1, died Sunday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Dr. George Boone will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born April 27, 1918 in Idaho to Joseph and Martha M. Gibson Koehling.
She married Lawton Ellis Nov. 28, 1982 in Wichita. He survives.
She was a waitress. She was also a member of the Southwest Presbyterian Church in Wichita.
Other survivors include daughters, Jean Pytlarz and Rosie Weineiswki, both of Marion, Ohio, Betty J. Curtis of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Marianne S. Koehl of Butler, Ind.; stepdaughters, Velma Hodge of Augusta and Valeta Rae Byfield of Douglass; sister, Angie Balfey of Denver, Colo., and Helen Wilson of California and Luella Scarborough of Jerome, Idaho.; 17 grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren.
A daughter-in-law, Shirley Wickliffe of Miami, Okla., also survives.
A son, Albert W. Wickliff, preceded her in death.

Dolores DeSilver dies in Mexico
Dolores DeSilver, 48, Merida, Yucatan, daughter of Mrs. William S. Skaer of Augusta, died May 26.
She was born Jan. 16, 1936 in Wichita.
She attended schools in Augusta. She was an artist.
Survivors include a daughter, Dwynwen of Canton, N.Y.; brothers, Dr. William C. Skaer of Wichita and Dr. Stanley William Skaer of Eureka.

Jack McElroy dies at home
Jack McElroy, 78, 412 E. Fifteenth, died yesterday at his home.
His funeral service will be 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, June 2, at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Richard Axmann will officiate and burial will be in the Kuster cemetery, rural Augusta.
He was born March 24, 1906 in Muncie, Ind., to Andrew and Victoria Bradigum McElroy.
McElroy married the former Ruby Viola Harris in a ceremony at Eureka on May 4, 1929. She survives.
He was a retired carpenter and member of the First Baptist Church of Augusta. McElroy was also a member of Mystic Tie Lodge 74.
In addition to his wife, McElroy leaves a son, David of Augusta; a daughter, Victoria Lou Guy of Augusta; a sister, Etta Carey of West Salem, Ill., and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers.
Memorials to the First Baptist Church are suggested by the family.
Zelora F. Maher died at hospital
Zelora Fern Maher, 79, of Route 4 died yesterday at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be 10 o’clock Saturday morning, June 2, at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Burl Allison and Rev. Jack Tomman will officiate and burial will be in the Cumberland cemetery, southeast of Augusta.
She was born Oct. 13, 1904 in Cole County, Ill., to William A. and Hettie Jane Daugherty Guest.
On March 17, 1942, she married Ed Maher in a ceremony at Wichita. He survives.
Maher was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church of Augusta.
Also surviving is a son, Bill of Augusta and a granddaughter, Debbie. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Homer Guest.

Mary Suther, 81, Wetmore, mother of Norbert Suther Augusta, died this morning.
Her service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. James Catholic Church in Wetmore.
Other survivors include her daughter-in-law, Shirley Suther of Augusta; a granddaughter, Cyndy Malone of Augusta, and a grandson, Kurt Suther of Emporia.

Daniel R. Fike, 77, 640 Santa Fe, died Thursday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita.
He was born Feb. 26, 1907 in Curtis, Neb., to John and Effie Griffith Fike.
He married Violet Gertune. She survives.
He served in the military during World War II.
Other survivors include sons, Merle Leroy and Orville Russell, both of Wichita; brothers, Virgil L. and Orville Russell, both of Wichita; sisters, Clara McCollum, Esther Chastain, both of Wichita, and Hazel Reed of Cedarvale; several nieces and nephews.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
