Jack J. Bankston

Jack J.Bankston, 79, Augusta, , passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011.
Viewing 3 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, at First Baptist Church, Augusta. Graveside service 1 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Those attending should use the 12th Street entrance.
Jack was born in McPherson, Kan. on Sept. 14,1931,the son of the late Charlie and Hazel Bankston. He worked as an electrician for McBride Electric and Boeing retiring in 1993. After retirement he was employed at Augusta Ace Homecenter. Jack was a member of the Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge where he was a past Master. He also had been a member of the Scottish Rite. On Aug. 13,1950 he married Viola (Wartick) in Augusta and she survives.
He is also survived by: son, Jack G. Bankston and wife Vonda of Wichita; grandchildren, Amanda Lea Bankston and Mariah Nicole Bankston.
He was preceded in death by brother, Charles W. Bankston.
