Lawrence "Bud" Atkinson

Lawrence “Bud” Atkinson, age 95, of Douglass, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011.
Graveside service was held today at Douglass Cemetery.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, James and Hazel Atkinson; wife, Helen Atkinson; siblings, Jerry Atkinson, Jack Atkinson, Lucille Warren, Helen Baumberger and Eleanor Kendall.
He is survived by 11 nieces and nephews; Cheri Lundberg, Jeanine Gunn, Jacquline Mas-sagee, Madeline Valgenti, Stephen Warren, Scott Warren, David Kendall, Tom, Mike, Mark and Lance Baumberger; close friend, Jeannie Schlocter-meier.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Douglass Senior Center, 124 W.
4th St., Douglass, KS 67039.

Edna Minnie Lightcap

Edna Minnie Lightcap, 76, of Augusta, passed away, Saturday,July 16,2011 at LakePoint Nursing Center.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Service will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, at the First United Methodist Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Edna was born in Baca County, Colo, on March 24,1935, the daughter of the late Jacob Edward Hufford and Minnie Pridemore. She worked as a bank teller and CD supervisor at Prairie State Bank, retiring in 2005. She was a member of the Augusta First United Methodist Church. On April 3,1976 she married Bill "Billy" Lightcap in Ratan, NM and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jacob Hufford Jr. and a sister Pearl
Farnsworth.
She is survived by: sons, Eldon Doty of San Bernardino, Calif., and Donny Lightcap and wife Vilora of Orrick, Mo.; daughter, Cheryl Wilson of Holcomb, Kan.; brother, Carl Hufford of Oregon; sisters, Opal Foxworthy of Ft.
Collins,Colo, and Ruby Montague of Houston, Texas; 5 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.

Mabel Bartlett

Mabel Ilene (McNair) Bartlett, 86, homemaker and seamstress for Levi Strauss in Harrison, Ark., passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011, at her home in rural Augusta.
No visitation. Funeral service will be at 2 p .m. on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at the First Assembly of God Church in Augusta. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Mabel was born on April 26,1925, to Felix and Clora Jane (Sisco) McNair in Osage, Ark.
She is survived by: daughters, Jackie (Jim) Stephenson of Augusta and Glenna Black of Augusta; son, Billy Gene (Sharon) Taylor of El Dorado, Tommy (Betty) Tcty-lor of Valley Center, Frankie Taylor of Augusta, and Keith (Brandi) Morris of Augusta; sisters, Leoma Morris of Augusta and Dorothy Carroll of Tulsa, Okla.; brother, Cecil McNair of Alpena, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Bill Taylor, Glen Morris, and Kenneth Bartlett; 8 brothers and sisters; 2 grandchildren.
