Toni Pocock

Toni Pocock, 63, of Wichita, professional hair dresser for over 40 years,
most re- Pocock cently at First Impressions and the former owner of The Prime Cut, passed away Tuesday, July 19,2011.
No visitation. Service of Remembrance at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 23, at University Friends Church, 1840 W. University, Wichita.
Toni was preceded in death by her father, Paul and brother, Steve.
Survivors: husband and soul mate, Ron of Wichita; mother, Dorothy Sparks of Wichita; stepsons, Darren (Bridgette) Pocock of Augusta and Quinn Graber; stepdaughters, Diana Brown of Ponca City, Okla., and Jayme Hybsha of Wichita; brother, Jeff (Cindy) Sparks of Kansas City, Mo.; sister, Shelley Burke of Tucson, Ariz.; 5 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; many hairdressing friends and clients.
Memorials to Kansas Humane Society.

Mary Sowers

Mary Frances (Roy) Sowers, 64, of Ann Arbor, Mich., passed away July 17,2011 in Sowers her Ann Arbor home.
Visitation was held Wednesday evening, at Nie Funeral Home, on Liberty Rd. west of Wagner in Ann Arbor, with services at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 21. MaryFran will be flown to Kansas. Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, will provide burial services at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 25, at Green Valley Cemetery, near Furley, Kan.
MaryFran was a distinguished Professor of Epidemiology for the School of Public Health, University of Michigan with extensive research work for Women's Health as the Director of the Center for Integrated Approaches to Complex Diseases.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Edwina (Cooper) Roy and proceeded in death by her sister Alice Roy, and the family dog Murphy.
She is survived by: her spouse, Ray Sowers; son, Paul; sister, Betty Ann Roy; brother, John A. Roy (Dana); brother and sister-in-law, F.W. (Juanita) Sowers; sister-in-law, Peggy Brock; and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests donations as a memorial gift to the Foundation for Women's Cancer (found online at www.founda-tionforwomenscancer.org ) specialization in education, prevention, and cure of reproductive cancer in lieu of flowers.
