Leonard Roger Gephart, 85, Augusta, passed away, Friday, Oct. 14, 2011.
Viewing 12-1:30 p.m. Monday, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Graveside service 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at Garrison Cemetery.
Roger was born in Malvern, Ark. on Jan.9, 1926, the son of the late William Leonard and Violet May (Rogers) Gephart. He was an electronics engineer at Boeing from 1951 to 1991. He was a member of the Association of Old Cross and IEEE. Roger also served in the U. S. Marine Corp during WWII. He was an accomplished jazz musician and an avid genealogist.
He met Betty LaNeil (Fulbright) at the University of Arkansas in October of 1946 and they were married in Little Rock, Ark. on Oct. 17, 1947. She preceded him in death on May 20, 2009.
He is survived by: sons, Roger Orbie Gephart and Joe Neil Gephart and wife Rhonda Kay Benson Gephart, all of Augusta, Charles Leonard Gephart and wife Sheila Jo Melton Gephart of Rogers, Ark., William Loren Gephart and wife Melissa Lynn Gephart of Maryland, and his former wife Sherri Santos Gephart Stock; brother, Charles Dale Gephart of Hernando, Miss.; sisters, Joann Gephart Banks of Malvern, Ark., Laura May Gephart Adams of Marian, Ark.; grandchildren, TYalaine Mae Gephart Benefiel,
