Virginia Blake
83. AUGUSTA
Virginia Ellen Blake, 83, of Augusta, passed away on Oct. 10, 2011.
She was born Feb. 5, 1928 near Mayetta, Kan., the second child of Lowell and Mildred (Tweedy) Johnson. She attended two years at Holton High School, Holton, Kan. Virginia married Floyd Eldon Stowell on June 6, 1944. He passed away Dec. 17,1961.
On July 7,1967 she married Harold W Blake, residing in Wyoming, Missouri and Kansas until his death on Jan. 12, 2004. Her parents and three brothers also preceded her in death.
Virginia is survived by: her children, LaVeta Mages, Lorraine Luttjo-hann, Steven Stowell, Stanley and Janet Stowell, and Michael and Terri Blake, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren as well as a sister, Geraldine Barrow and a brother, Duane Johnson.
No service is scheduled with burial in Holton, Kan.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Amedisys Hospice.

85, AUGUSTA
Carl Allen Fisher, 85, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at the Life Care Center of Andover.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15; funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., both at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta. Interment will follow on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Wakarusa Cemetery in Wakarusa, Kan.
Carl was bom May 17, 1926, to Perry and Mina (Seastrom) Fisher in Wakarusa, Kan. He graduated from Carbon-dale High School and served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and then in the Naval Reserve. Carl married Nellie M. Waet-zig on March 16,1947, in Carbondale, Kan. He retired from the Kansas Turnpike Authority as Chief of Communications. Some of his hobbies included hunting, fishing traveling and operating a ham radio. Carl was also a long time member of Kiwanis Club, American Legion and Boy Scouts.
His survivors include: his wife Nellie of the home; son and his wife, Marc and Anne Fisher of Topeka, son Craig Fisher of Broken Arrow, Okla.; daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Larry Lang of Overbrook,
Kan., and Jeanne and Jerry Mehl of El Dorado; a sister Geraldine Urich of Carbondale, Kan.; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister Irene.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society, 818 North Emporia,
Suite 100, Wichita, Kansas 67214, or in care of Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta.
