Jimmie Turner
71 WARRENSBURG.MO.

Jimmie Allen Turner, age 71, Warrensburg, Mo., loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend went to be with our Lord on Jan. 6, 2012.
A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Warrensburg, Mo.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, at the First Baptist Church in Warrensburg.
Jimmie grew up in the El Dorado area, but most recently lived in Warrensburg, Mo. Following high school he attended IBM Business College.
He worked as a pipe insulator for most of his career. Prior to this, he was also employed as a police officer, security guard, oil field worker,
and as a caregiver. He volunteered at his local church teaching Sunday School classes and frequently was requested to sing at church and at funerals. He enjoyed the great outdoors, hiking, fishing and traveling. He was a self-taught artist and his works have been shown throughout central Kansas. He loved to draw, oil paint, sculpture, sing, poetry, garden, cook, and bake pies. He loved to make others laugh and provided encouragement to the downhearted. His faith was important to him and he was open with others about what mattered to him and what he believed. He was a man of integrity.
He loved his family most of all, married to beloved wife of 51 years, and spending time with his daughters and their families. He loved spending time with animals having a variety of pets throughout his life as companions. He attended the First Baptist Church of Warrensburg, Mo., the Bennington Bible Church, and the United Church of Bennington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife Helen; his three daughters, Laurie Thornhill, Amy Turner, Valerie Boster; eight siblings, Mary Nuttle, Barbara Hutson, Frances Healy, Carol Goss, John Turner, David Turner, Bill Turner, and Richard Turner.; two grandson, Lane and Heath Thornhill, and numerous other relatives.

James Michael ‘Mike’ Perley
63, BUTLER COUNTY

James Michael “Mike” Perley, 63, passed away Jan.4, 2011, at his home in rural Butler County.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Federated Church in Whitewater; a private family interment will take place at a later date.
Mike was born Nov. 2, 1948 in Moberly, Mo. to John Lee and Bonnie
(Sellers) Perley. Mike proudly served in the United States Army and was a Carpenter by trade.
He is survived by: his father John Perley of Newton; two daughters, Jamie (Dave) Cope of Maryville, Tenn., and Jennifer (Bob) Baugher of Augusta; sister, Michelle (Joe) Solomon of Newton; six grandchildren and four nieces.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Perley; sister, Marilyn Hinz and nephew, Jeremy Solomon.
Memorials maybe made to the Wounded Warrior program in care of the funeral home. Petersen Funeral Home Newton, in charge of arrangements.
