Morris E. Wheeler
99, LEON

Norris E. Wheeler, 99, of Leon, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at his home near Leon.
Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan.11, at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Interment will follow in Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado.
He was bom on July 15,1912 in Freedom, Okla., the son of Noah and Americas F. (Jones) Wheeler. Norris was a rancher and farmer and made his home in this area for many years. He graduated from Selman, Okla. High School and was valedictorian of his graduating class. He was a member of IWOF Lodge, Leon; Fire District; a founder of RWD #6; member of School Board; enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was known as a fix -it man.
On Aug. 28,1936, he married Rosie Edwards in Alva, Okla.. She preceded him in death on Sept. 18,1990.
Those he leaves are: daughters, Janice Withington and Rosa Lee Cox; grandchildren, Julia Withington, Greg Cox and wife Agustina, and Debbie Cox, all of Leon;

92, AUGUSTA

Billy Charlie Carr, 92, Augusta, retired from Cessna Aircraft, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at the Robert J. Dole Medical Center in Wichita.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday; funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan.ll, 2012, both at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta.
Billy was born April 28,1919, to Eber Charlie and Daisy Lee (Rutherford) Carr in l Augusta. He served his country in
the United States Army during WWII. Billy married Viola Lucille Sanders in Newkirk, Okla, on Dec. 21,1940.
Survivors include: his sons, Melvin Carr of Latham and Charles and Ronald Carr, both of Augusta, and Donald and his wife Kathy Carr of Benton; daughters and their husbands, Marilyn and John Busch of Augusta, and Mary and Mark Parker of Clearwater; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
A memorial has been established with the Robert J. Dole Medical Center, 5500 East Kellogg, Wichita, KS 67218, or in care of the funeral home.
