73, AUGUSTA

Raymond W. Franks, 73, of Augusta, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2012.
Memorial graveside service 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2pl2 at Elmwood j Cemetery, Augusta.
Those attending should use the Ohio Street entrance.
Raymond was born in Leon, Kan. on Sept. 10, 1938, son of the late Ruth Elizabeth Sutton and Howard Taylor Franks. He was an auto body mechanic.
He is survived by: son, Jay Franks of Wichita; daughters, Crystal and husband James Warden of Choctaw, Okla., and Veda Franks of Augusta; sisters, Velva Rosiere and husband Joe of Arvada. Colo., Opal Wartick and husband Frank and Vale-da Ott, both of El Dorado; grandchildren,
Daniel, Amanda, Jessica, Chance, Kaitlyn, Heaven, Peyton; and a greatgrandchild, Corbin Wade Franks. He was preceded in death brother, Jessie Robert "Bob” Franks.

Hazel E. Rierson
93, DOUGLASS

Hazel Evelyn Rierson, 93, of Douglass, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in El Dorado.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2012, at Cumberland Church.
She was born on July 8,1918, in Crispin, Kan. to Archie and Nora Tucker Brown. She graduated from North High School in Wichita.
Hazel married Russell Dean Rierson on June 23,1940. They moved to Douglass, where they raised their son Ronald.
She spent many years devoted to her family, faith and community.
She invited children of the community weekly to the “Good News Club” in her home to teach them the word of God. She has touched so many lives in her 93 years. Everyone who knew her, loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Ben and Carl, and her husband.
She is survived by: son, Ronald; grandchildren, Heather Rierson, John (Jennifer) Rierson, Bethany (Eric) Wilson, all of El Dorado, and Amanda (Tracy) Gaddis of Garden City; great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Rierson, Jenna Rierson, Brenten and Brayden Gaddis.
She was also blessed with the news of two great-grandsons to arrive later this year.
Memorials have been established with Aseracare Hospice and the Cumberland Church.
