Clyde Martin
87. EL DORADO
Clyde Owen Martin, 87, of El Dorado, passed away April 3,2012 in Wichita.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Clyde Martin Clyde’s life
at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 430 Eunice, El Dorado.
He was born Sept. 24, 1924, on the family farm in NE Greenwood County, the sixth of Charles Lorenzo “Ren” and Cora (Joy) Martin’s children. On June 3,1945 he was married to Gail Lee McGhee in Neodesha.
After a long oilfield career, he retired as production manager from Brandt Drilling of Wichita in 1986. An avid gardener, he enjoyed selling his produce and fresh-made bread at the local farmers market.
He is survived by: his wife; his brother,
Howard Martin of Dumas, Texas; five children, Owen Martin of White-water, Susan Leigh and Karen Kolavalli of El Dorado, Cynthia Ross of Towanda and Virginia Allain of Poinciana, Fla.; and grandchildren, Paul Calhoun, Robin Calhoun, Kristy (Ross) Duggan, April (Calhoun) Wickwire, Nikki (Ross) Teel, Diana Hyle, Samantha (Hyle) Noble and Chhaya Kolavalli.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Dorothy Jones, Helen Hunnicutt, Vivian Stafford and Zella
Baysinger; two brothers, Ralph and Charles Martin; a daughter, Shannon Hyle; and son-in-laws, Ronald Calhoun and Larry Ross.
Donations maybe made to the Kansas Oil Museum, 383 E. Central Ave., El Dorado, KS 67042.

52, WICHITA
Thomas "Tom” Sims, 52, Spirit Aerosystems employee, of Wichita, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p m. on Monday evening, April 9, at the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta.
Tom was born April 30,1959, to Willard and Helen (McAfee) Sims in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He attended Leon schools.
Survivors include: his spouse, Shelly Fish of the home; daughter, Callie (Craig) Rector of Valley Center; step-children, Bill Fish, Zachary (Crystal) Fish, Anthony (Kanesha) Fish and Gina (Alfonso) Coca all of Wichita; brother, Loyd (Joyce) Sims of Augusta; sisters, Barbara Lyon of Long Beach, Calif, and Beverly (Mike) Cheslic of Augusta; sister-in-law, Cindy Sims of Wichita; 12 grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents and a brother, Jim Sims.
Memorials to Children’s Miracle Network in care of the funeral home.
