Aileen Bair
83, AUGUSTA

Aileen Bair, 83, homemaker of Augusta, passed away Sunday, May 27,
2012.
Service 1:30 pm Thursday, May 31, 2012, at First Baptist Church, Augusta. Burial will be at Burden Cemetery, Burden.
Aileen was born in Cedar Vale, Kan. on June 24,1928, to the late Fairy (Morlan) and Johnnie Champlin. On July 29,1950 in Raton, N.M she married Harold Homer Bair, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by daughter Marsha Evans; sister, Betty Smith; and twin sister, Nadine Leedy.
She is survived by: sons, Harold Bair Jr. and wife Ginny of Fargo, ND, and Johnnie Bair and wife Kathie of Wichita; sisters, Donna Green and husband Allen of Independence, and Norma Beecham of Winfield; brother, Merle Champlin of Winfield; grandchildren, Dennis, Elizabeth, Patricia and Louise Bair, Lisa and John Evans; seven great-grandchildren; son-in-law Mark Evans.
Memorial donations to Alzheimer’s Association 347 S. Laura Wichita, Kansas 67211.

Billy Garrett
82, AUGUSTA

Billy Dee Garrett, 82 of Augusta, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012 in Augusta.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday evening; funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012, both at Wilson's Funeral Home in Wellsville, Kan. Interment will follow services in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Billy Dee Garrett was born March 12,1930 in Wellvsille, the son of Orville Dee “Mutt” and Mary Grace Garrett. On Sept. 16,1950, he married Delores “Dee” Ku-nard. They shared 62 years of marriage before his passing. Bill primarily worked as a blacksmith, welder, cattleman and oil field pumper. He enjoyed his family, working on his farm and hunting and fishing.
Bill is survived by: his wife, Dee of the home; daughter and son in law, Jacqueline Jo and “Bub” Robbins of Pomona, Kan.; son and daughter in law, Martin Dee and Tammie Garrett of Andover; sisters, Almeda Capehart of Washington and Betty McCormack of Olathe, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kristine Fay Garrett (1975).

Kenneth Secrist
97, ELLINWOOD

Kenneth Secrist, 97, Ellinwood, died on May 27, 2012.
Visitation 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with family receiving friends 1-2 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 1, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Ellinwood. Interment
3 p.m. on Friday, June 1, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
He was born on May 12,1915 in Linn County, Kan., the son of James Walter and Jenni Pearl (Robbins) Secrist. He married Leila Jene Burris July 29,1938 at Augusta, She died July 25, 1998.
He was a teacher with his first teaching job at Manter, Kan. He came
to Ellinwood to teach in the high school,then he was principal for Ellinwood Junior High. He retired from teaching and bought the H & H IGA in partnership with Nick LoBurgio. Mr. Secrist was an Ellinwood resident for 65 years coming from El Dorado.
He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Ellinwood; was an active church delegate; a charter member of Ellinwood Lions Club, a former Boy Scout leader, Ellinwood Junior Chamber of Commerce, and IGA Association and was a referee for all sports across central Kansas.
He is survived by: daughter: Leila Kay Campbell and her husband Junior James of Abbotstown, Pa.; grandson, Kenneth James Campbell and his wife Tammy of Rockville, Md.; great-grandchildren, Crista Kay Campbell, James Anthony Campbell, and Matthew Thomas Campbell
He was preceded in death by one brother, Lester Secrist; and two sisters, Ruby Edwards and Muriel Flick.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials contributions to Ellinwood District Hospital or Great Bend Noon Lions Club Sight Project, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Road Great Bend, KS 67530.
