Carl "Gene" Myers
81 RURAL EL DORADO
Carl E. "Gene" Myers, 81. passed away at his rural El Dorado home on June 2, 2012.
He was born Jan. 4, 1931 in Bloomington Township. He was the son of Merle DeLoss Myers and Evelyn (Carl-man) Myers. He attended school in the Leon and Augusta area. Gene served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Carl was united in marriage to Janet Schroeder in Newton, on Sept. 1,1956. He held numerous positions throughout his career and retired from Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital where he was maintenance supervisor for over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Janice Myers.
He is survived by his wife, Janet, of the home; a son, Jeffrey of Wichita; a daughter, Jere McMullen and her husband,Mark of Eureka; brother, Jack; sister, Marian Holman; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Private family service will be held at a later date.
A memorial has been established for Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Contributions can be sent c/o Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.







Tollie J. Hartmann
72, AUGUSTA

Tollie Jeanene Hartmann, 72, Augusta, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012 at her home.
Services are pending with Dunsford Funeral Home & Crematory, Augusta.




Kenny Medlam
69, WELLINGTON

Kenneth “Kenny” Medlam, 69, retired Plessey-Welco machinist, ofWellington, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2012.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, June 7, at the Hawks-Shelley Funeral Home & Crematory. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington.
Kenny served his country in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966 as an Airplane l Mechanic in both the Philippine’s and Vietnam.
Kenny is survived by: his son, Bob Mauer and is wife Caren of Salt Lake City, Utah; two grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Mooney and her husband Dale of Augusta, and Carol Penny of Wellington.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Sue Medlam.
A memorial has been established with the NRA Foundation and may be left with the funeral home.
