Tollie Hartmann
72, AUGUSTA

Tollie Jeanenne Hartmann, 72, retired RAC engineer and Six Sigma Black Belt, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 23,, at the Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta.
Tollie was born July 26, 1939, in Salina, to Wyman and Fae Peterson. She married Steven A. Hartmann on Oct. 17,1980, in El Dorado.
Tollie received her AA from Friends University, BS from Tabor College and her MA from Webster University. After retiring she became adjunct faculty and faculty mentor at University of Phoenix and Southwestern College Professional Studies as an affiliate faculty and member of the Professional Studies Academic Council.
Her survivors include: her husband Steven of the home; daughter, Sara Salyer and her children Wesley and Angela of Puyallup, Wash.; son Timothy and his wife Lindy Sparr and their children T. J. and Lauren of Wichita; daughter, Edie and her husband Iwan Aries-tanto and their daughter Ella of Wichita; son, Scott and his wife Kristi Hartmann of Kansas City, Mo.
Tollie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Monte Peterson.
A memorial has been established with the Sedgwick County Zoo in care of the funeral home.

Donald Hagen
90, TARZANA, CA

Don Hagen died at age 90 from natural causes in his apartment, in Tarzana, California.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosilla Bartz Hagen, his parents Joseph and Esma Hagen, brother Richard J. Hagen and sister Dorothy Hagen Holzgraffe.
Don is survived by: his brother, Robert Franklin Hagen, his daughter, Marsha Hagen Arehart and son, John Thomas Hagen-Brenner.
Don was born to Joseph George Hagen and Esma Zeaman Hagen in Wisconsin Rapids, Wise. He developed passions for music, photography and aviation. During his days at Ripon College, Don played in a swing band “The Vagabonds.” Before the war, he entered the Civilian Pilot Training Program, receiving instruction in an old biplane from air racer, Steve Whitman, at Oshkosh. After enlisting, he graduated on June 4,1943 from Pensacola as a Naval Aviator. During military leave, back in The Rapids, he met Rosy Bartz. On Nov. 24,1944, after his return from overseas duty, Don and Rosy began a marriage that would last 62 years. As a World War II Marine Fighter Pilot, 1st Lieutenant “Spinner” Hagen was attached to VMFlll (The Devil Dogs), flying dive-bombing combat missions in the Pacific. Don moved his family to Dallas, Texas in 1954. He volunteered the Civil Air Patrol. His last flight was on a Wright Flyer replica in Day-ton, Ohio in 1995, bringing his total flight hours up to 676. For 15 years Don Was a regional sales representative for Consoweld Corporation. He then operated his own commercial photography studio until his retirement. Don was President of the Dallas Businessman’s Association and a long time member and elder of Casa Linda Presbyterian Church and the Colonial Presbyterian Church in Dallas. Don and Rosy moved to Los Angeles in 2004 to be closer to family. Don was a terrific father, a musician, a WWII fighter pilot, a photographer and a man who showed us what it means to toil and provide, and with skill and determination, keep the boulder moving up the mountain.
Don’s ashes will be interred beside Rosy’s at Riverside National Cemetery, in Riverside, Calif,
