83, AUGUSTA

Shirley A. Guy, 83, of Augusta, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012.
Graveside 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3,2012, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, Those attending should use the Ohio St. entrance.
Shirley was born in Attica, Kan. on April 2,1929, to the late Mona Mardel (Davis) and Doris Dean Graham. She retired as a CNA at Augusta Medical Complex. On Aug. 5,1949 in Joplin, Mo., she married Roy L. Guy and her precedes her in death. She was also preceded in death by step-grandson Patrick Parry.
She is survived by: daughter, Darnella of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; son, Dennis Guy and wife Marylee of Augusta; son, Richard Guy of Hutchinson; sister, Charlene Campbell of Hemet, Calif..; grandchildren Jennifer Otis, Darren and David Guy, Megan Henson, Katie Parkin, Kristina McConnaughy; and nine great-grandchildren.

Joseph Honer
85, MULVANE

Joseph Allen Honer, 85, of Mulvane, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 31,2012.
Surrounded by his loved ones in prayer, Joe passed away after a short battle with West Nile virus.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 4,
2012, Faith Lutheran Church, 214 S. Derby, Derby. Burial will be that afternoon at 2 p.m. in Sunset Lawn Cemetery, El Dorado.
He was born May 14, 1927 to Joseph and Nora Marie Honer of Denton, Kan. Joe served in the , United States jNavy during WWII and the Korean War. He recently participated in the Veterans Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. Joe retired from Williams Pipeline Company in 1987 after 40 years of service. He loved God, his family and anything related to hunting, woodworking and golf. He recorded two holes-in-one in his lifetime and routinely schooled his children and grandchildren in cards and board games.
Preceding Joe in death was his former wife of 52 years, Clara Marie Honer;
brother, Jack Honer and sister, Betty Delzeit.
He is survived by: his wife, Rosemary Honer; children, Nancy Ayers (Max) of Mulvane, Dr. Craig Honer (Karen) of San Antonio, Texas, Julie Pritchard (Don) of Augusta, Mark Honer (Teresa) of Shawnee, Kan.; step-children, Charles L. Miser (Gloria) of Arkansas City, Marsha Beckner of Wichita, Kerry Miser of Derby, and Marlene Rose (John) of Denver, Colo.; sisters, Barbara Will of Topeka, Rosemary Helm-stetter of Denton, Kan.; sister-in-law, Norma Honer of Atchison; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 9 step-greatgrandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Faith Lutheran School, 214 S. Derby, Derby, KS.
