Melvin Eugene Wolf, 91, retired Wal-Mart "Popcorn |
Man" passed away ^peacefully with fainily members | present on Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Lakepoint of Augusta.
Melvin was bom April 5,1921, to Everett Leroy and Alpha Nan (Keltner) Wolf in Rocky Ford, Colorado. He graduated from Arkansas City High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Through his military years, he received a Bronze Star and various medals and awards.
He married Willa Mae Hendrix on October 17, 1981, in Arkansas City, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 9,1994.
Melvin was a carpenter, and worked as a machinist for Beechcraft and Boeing. After retirement he became an Augusta Wal-Mart greeter. He sold popcorn at the entrance of the store, therefore known as
"The Popcorn Man". Melvin attended First Baptist Church, was a Mason and an an avid golfer, bowler and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His survivors include his sons Darrell (Mary) Wolf of Jackson, Missouri, Lee Roy (Tiffany) Wolf of Leon, Kansas, Lyle (Kelli) Wolf of Rose Hill, Kansas and Bill (Kathy) Wolf of Towanda, Kansas; daughter Nancy Shackelford of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother Claude Wolf of Salina, Kansas; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse; brother Max Wolf and an infant brother.
Viewing will be held
Wednesday, September 26, from 1-6 p.m. and visitation with family greeting friends will follow from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service Thursday, September 27, at 10:30 a.m. all at Dunsford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Douglass Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with Lake-point, 901 Lakepoint Drive, Augusta, 67010 or in care of the funeral home.

Marsha Sue Uhrmacher, 66, loving wife, mother and grandmother of Augusta, passed away Saturday, September 22,2012 at home.
A memorial service will be 10 Thursday, September 27,2012, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Marsha was born in ElDorado, Kansas on July 6, 1946, to the late Melba (Sears) and Elmer Schaible.
On May 31, 1964 she married Larry Uhrmacher at the First Baptist Church in Augusta, and he survives her. She is also survived by: daughters, Traci Swartz and husband Paul of Augusta; Staci Swim and husband Doug of Edmond, OK; and Jacqulynn Uhrmacher of Wichita, KS; son, Richard Uhrmacher and wife Jenny of Augusta; sister, Jan Schaible of Augusta; brother, Terry Lacy of Augusta; grandchildren Bryce, Tori, and Addison Swim; Gabriel and Roman Swartz; Jordan Arredondo; Jacob Urhrmacher; and Dorian Ballway.
She was preceded in death by a brother Tommy Lacy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Dorotha Irene (Hart) Nickel, 89, born January 21,1923 at Douglass, KS, died Monday, September 24,2012 in Rose Hill, KS. Dorothy was raised in El Dorado, KS, and was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church. She worked as a legal secretary for several years, and then began her insurance career with Bacon Insurance Company and later with the Insurance Center of El Dorado. She retired in 1995 after 25 years with the Insurance Center.
Most important to her was her faith and her church. She loved being with her family and enjoyed traveling.
Dorothy was a member of the Life Enrichment program at Butler County Nickel Community College, a member of the YMCA, supported multiple activities at the Senior Center, and was a charter member of the El Dorado Aerobics group. She also volunteered at the El Dorado Oil Museum. She loved music and regularly attended the El
Dorado Community Concert series.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and her husband Allen V. Nickel. She is survived by her sons Curtis Nickel (Cindy) of Rose Hill, KS, Phillip Nickel (Charlene) of Tulsa, OK, and Gary Nickel (Cindy) of Augusta, KS. Dorothy had 8 grandchildren: Brett Nickel (Michaela) of Andover,
KS, Jared Nickel of Kansas City, MO, Jeff Nickel (Jacqlyn) of Andover,KS, Evan Nickel (Ginny) of Tacoma, WA, Angela Nickel of Denver, CO, Eric Nickel of Tulsa, OK, Daniel Nickel and Justin Nickel, both of
Norman, OK, and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27th at the First Baptist Church of El Dorado. Visitation with family present will be 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26th at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will follow at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the Sarah Circle at First Baptist Church of El Dorado and the El Dorado Oil Museum. Contributions may be left at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home.
