78, CUNNINGHAM
Vernon G. Glenn, 78, retired Cessna Aircraft sheet metal assembler supervisor, of Cunningham and formerly of Augusta, died on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Cunningham Christian Church.
He was born on Aug. 18, 1934, at Preston, the 1 son of James E. and Marguerite (Northrop) Glenn.He married Donna M. Hoover on Nov. 4, 1954.
He was a member of the s Cunningham Christian Church.
His survivors include: his wife, Donna; sons, Jerry and Randy; daughter,
Verna Lankford; brothers, Clay, Ray, Ronnie, and Norman Hoover; sister, Helen Arnett; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grand-children; 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Brown; grandson, Brandon; great-grandson, Justin.
Memorials may be made with the Cunningham Christian Church and Cunningham Museum, both in care of Livingston Funeral Home, 1830 N. Main, Kingman, KS 67068.

66, ELDORADO
Marion L. Nichols of El Dorado, died Jan. 9,2013 in Wichita.
Memorial service was held on Friday, Jan. 18, at Trinity United Methodist Church, El Dorado.
Marion was born on Sept. 14,1946 in Iowa City, Iowa, to Daniel and Darlene Yerington. She attended West Branch High School, Iowa State University, Butler County Community College, and Wichita State University.
Marion had spent the last 28 years serving the people of south central Kansas. Her most recent role was that of Housing Director for Mid-Kansas Community Action Program in Augusta. During her 28 years of service she helped many move from poverty to self-sufficiency. One of her favorite activities was to teach parenting classes. She led efforts in volunteer income tax preparation, housing, nutrition, health, clothing, child care, and job training programs. Her efforts touched thousands of lives in this community which she was proud to be a part of.
Marion is survived by: mother, Darlene King of Winfield; brothers, Daniel Yerington of Iowa and Mark Yerington of California; sons, Michael Kane of Texas and Mark Kane of Oklahoma; daughters, Kathryn McHenry and Pa-tricia Nichols, both of Kansas; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established with The Butler Homeless Initiative. Contributions may be sent to Butler Homeless Initiative, PO Box 123, El Dorado, KS 67042.

Wesley ‘Wes’ Ballinger, Sr.
82, WICHITA
Wesley “Wes” Oren Ballinger, Sr., 82, retired Safeway Meat processing supervisor, Wichita, passed away Jan. 15,2013.
Viewing will be from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, with family receiving friends 6 - 7 p.m.; funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Resthaven Mortuary, Wichita.
Wes was a Korean War Marine veteran, enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, was a handyman, 32 degree Mason in Haysville.
He was preceded in death by his wife Geraline “Jeri” in 2002, and four brothers.
He is survived by: his sons, Wesley O. Ballinger, Jr. of Wichita, and Jerry D. (Laura) Ballinger of Augusta; step-sons, Randall (Susan) Barber of Haysville, Ronald (Eleisa) Barber of Wichita; stepdaughter, Susan (Alexander) Barber-Cota of Charleston, SC; siblings, Alfred, Mary, Bessie and Loren; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.

Marilyn F. James, 79, of Augusta, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17,2013 in Wichita.
Visitation 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, at Headley Funeral Chapel and service 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Marilyn was born in Polo, Mo. on March 3, 1933, to the late Mabel (Pruit) and Claude Shu-fler. She retired as a marketing executive secretary at Beech Aircraft, after 30 years. On July 29,1951 at Topeka, she married George L. James ,who survives her.
She is also survived by : son, George T. James; grandchildren, Jeremy, Christopher, Charlie, and George Francis James and wife Katrina; great-grandchildren, George Logan and Daisy James.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Gerald and Greg James.
Memorial donations to Good Shepherd Hospice.
