Marlin Clark
85, AUGUSTA
Marlin Clark, 85, of Augusta, died Friday,| April 5, 2013, at Life Care in Andover.
Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013; services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, both at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Interment will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.
Marlin was born on Jan. 27,1928 in Pittsburg, Kan., the son of Lloyd B. and Hilda Hazel (Crapson) Clark. He graduated from Potwin High School and received his Pharmacist Degree from Kansas University. He served in the United State Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict and was a corpsman in the Navy. He worked with his father at Clark Drug Store in El Dorado and from 1953 to 1999, at the drug store in Augusta. He married Shirley Boone in a ceremony at the First Christian Church in El Dorado on Aug. 5, 1956. He enjoyed sports - especially Kansas University sports; he was a religious person and loved to tell stories, jokes, sing and dance. Marlin was very proud of his family and loved spending time with them. He especially loved his kids and grandchildren and they called him “Boom-Pa.”
Those he leaves: his wife Shirley of the home; children, Bryan Clark, Augusta, Brook and Kim Clark, Towanda, and Kimberly and husband Randy Ellison, Andover; four granddaughters, Ashley and Kaitlyn Clark; Rylee and Paige Ellison; great-granddaughter, Paytlyn Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Scott Michael and two sisters, Barbara and Jayne.

94, WICHITA
Elizabeth “Dixie” Fisher, 94, Wichita, retired purchasing agent at Prairie State Bank in Augusta, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 2, 2013.
Visitation with family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary, Wichita. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, at First United Methodist Church, 330 N. Broadway, Wichita. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Cleveland Cemetery,Cleveland, Kan.
Preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Gladys Dixon; brothers, Howard, Cortlandt, Gene, Jack, Garry Lee; husband, Eugene “Gene”; and granddaughter, Julie Jones.
Dixie was an active member in a Methodist Church wherever she lived.
Survived by: daughters, Mickey (John) Jones of Hutchinson, and Donna Fisher of Wichita; brothers, Gloyd (Lyna) Dixon, Lawrence Dixon, and Richard (Deannie) Dixon; sister, Anna Marie Taber; grandchildren, Suzi (Bert Boden) Casement, Jason (Tracy) Jones, Jacque Jones, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Rex Wheeler
68, ROGERS, ARK.
Rex Wheeler, 68, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 at his home.
A memorial service was held on Mon-
day, April wheeler 8, at Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale, Ark.
He was born Sept.4, 1944, in Wichita, to Ira and Lorene Barrett Wheeler.
Rex graduated high school in Childress, Texas in 1963, and then attended Wichita State University receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1971- He taught school for a number of years, then built homes and cabinets until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, boating, golfing, playing with his kitties, spending time with his family and hosting his annual family reunions.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ira Wane Wheeler.
He is survived by: his wife, Judy (Durham) Wheeler of the home; three children, Susie Braden and husband Gary of Rogers, Daniel Jackson and wife Kim of Colorado Springs, Debby Houck of Rogers; two brothers, Jon-dell Wheeler and wife Bonni of San Jose, Calif., Glen Wheeler and wife Brenda of Missoula, Mont.; six grandchildren, Kelsey Howell and husband Kendall, Lacie Braden, Joshua Rex Braden, Danielle Jackson, Brittany Houck, David Houck; and two greatgrandchildren, Bri and Kaydee Howell.
