Kerry Dean “Turtle” Moore, 68, El Dorado died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at his home.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013, at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, El Dorado. The celebration of his life will be held 10 a.m. Tbesday, April 16, at the First Church of the Nazarene in El Dorado.
Kerry was born Jan. 27, 1945 in Prairie Grove, Ark., the son of Kenneth and Mabel (Lockhart) Moore. The family came to Kansas in 1948 and Kerry graduated from the Leon High School. He started working for Beech Aircraft and he retired after 45 years of service. He was very active in the Christian Motorcycle Association and his mission was to serve Christ in the Messiah Messengers Chapter #882. For many years he helped with Prison Ministry and the Wounded Warriors association.
Surviving family include: his companion, Yvonne “Vonnie” Burkholder; son, Kory and wife Mandy Moore of Augusta; daughter, Janelle Bennett of Wichita; brothers, Ronald Joe Moore of Wichita, Bill and Darryl Moore, both of El Dorado; sisters, Janice Humes of Manhattan, and Sheryl Daunen of Stoneham, Colo.; grandchildren Austin, Alison, Kolton, Kynlie, Carson, and Chandler; many nieces and nephews. ,

Aletha Cummins, 92, homemaker of Augusta, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 in Wichia
Graveside service was held Monday, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Aletha was born in Haddam, Kan. on Dec. 5,1920. Her parents were the late Grace (Hamlin) and the late John Engelbrecht of Yates Center, Kan. On Sept. 7,1935 she married Monroe Mason Cummins at Wellington.
She is survived by: her children, Lila Perry of Wichita, Marilyn Swearingen (Harold) of Augusta, Bill Cummins (Carrice) of Rayville, La., John Cummins of Toronto, Kan., Jim Cummins (Cindy) of Shell Knob, Mo., Carol Fowler (Joe) of Eureka Springs, Ark., and Robert Cummins (Cathy) of Douglass; special friend, Harold Miller; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations to Wichita Children's Home.
