Harry William
McCarter
99, ATHENS, TX

Harry William McCarter, 99, loving son, husband, father and grandfather died May 2, 2013 in Athens, Texas.
He was the son of George Moses and Nellie Maude Leibffied McCarter. Harry was born September 28,1913 in Emporia, Kansas.
He was an aeronautical design engineer for over 35 years at Cessna Aircraft Company in Wichita, Kansas.
He was a member of the Masons for over sixty years. Harry married lone Cormany April 12,1934 in Kansas City, Missouri.
They celebrated 52 years of marriage before her death in 1986. Harry and lone had four children: son Randy McCarter, Dallas, Texas; three daughters, Diedra(H.V.) Chapin, Augusta, Kansas, Judy(Frank)Creed, Euless, Texas and Faith( Jim) Temple, Athens, Texas. Other survivors include 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Harry married Margret Gaskill May 1,1988 in Estes Park, Colorado. Margret preceded Harry in death.
A Celebration of Life for Harry will be held in Dallas, Texas on what would have been his 100th birthday in September.

Woody Jacoby
69, FORSYTH, MO


Woody Jacoby, 69, passed away on May 1, 2013, with his family by his side in Springfield, Missouri.
The funeral took place on May 4th at the Forsyth Whelchel Funeral Chapel, in Forsyth, MO, followed by the burial at the Dann Cemetery in nearby Brownbranch, MO.
It was a beautiful service which featured a solo by Woody’s granddaughter, Olivia Jacoby, who sang a touching song called “I Can Only Imagine” and there were many friends that stood to speak about Woody’s impact on their lives. Woody was born on July 5,1943 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the late Lt. Cahin and Jeanne (Miller) Jacoby of Eldorado, Kansas.
Woody’s father, Lt. Calvin Jacoby passed away suddenly when Woody was only a few months old. His mother, Jeanne, after a few years,
then married Calvin Miller, who became Woody’s father. Woody has one sister, Kandy (Wayne) Miller of Eldorado, Kansas.
He was the grandson of the late Kenneth and Vi Jacoby of Eldorado, Kansas. Woody and his wife, Kay of Forsyth were married for 41 years. He
has four children; Sherry Jacoby of Branson, Missouri, Sheila (Todd) Norris of Wheaton, Missouri; Gina Jacoby of Augusta, Kansas and Chris (Terri) Jacoby of Andover, Kansas, formerly of Augusta, KS. Woody has seven grandchildren whom he dearly loved; Jacqueline (Kaleb) Settle, Kyle Norris, Olivia Jacoby, Jack Jacoby, Grant Jacoby and Mariah Ameen and one great-grandson, Jackson Settle.
Woody loved being with his grandchildren; he was so excited to attend their wrestling meets, plays or just spending time talking, singing or playing games with them. Woody was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kim-berling City, Missouri, where he sang in the choir. He was a wonderful singer; he had a deep, rich voice.
He loved music and he loved the Lord Jesus Christ his Savior with all of his heart. Woody was a graduate of Eldorado High School in Eldorado, KS. In high school, he excelled in sports; he was a catcher in baseball and broke records in track as a sprinter.
He also enjoyed competing in singing and dancing contests. He loved doing “The Twist” dance and was quite good at it. He was a graduate of Emporia
State University in Emporia, Kansas, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree, majoring in Business and minoring in Biology.
He also belonged to a fraternity. He began his career as pharmaceutical salesmen for Eaton Laboratories for 10 years, and then worked for Bristol Myers for 20 years. In his spare time, Woody enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and researching medical information on the website Pub Med. Woody loved caring for his pet dog, Gigi and cat, Miss Kitty. He enjoyed calling his friends and family on the phone often and talking about what was going on in their lives.
He was known for calling and saying ‘Well, Hello” in his upbeat, deep voice. He was genuinely interested in people and would offer advice and encouragement. He was a very kind-hearted, warm and friendly person.
He loved the Lord and his family and he will be greatly missed.
