Lela ‘Ruth’ Rierson
95, LEON
Lela "Ruth” (Pennington) Rierson, 95, homemaker and farmer's wife, passed away, Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Victory Worship Center, 1924 Dearborn, Augusta. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Ruth was born June 28,1918, to John Franklin and Lillian (Howe) Pennington in Okanogan, Wash. She graduated from Augusta High School in 1936 and married Fredrick "Fred" Rierson on Nov. 14,
1936, in Douglass.
Ruth is survived by: her sons and their wives, Fred "Mike" and Patsy Rierson of Leon, Gary and Barbara Rierson of Grenola, Kan and Roger and Becky Rierson of Leor, daughter, Judy and her husband, ohn Minton of Augusta; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; daughter, Patricia Stockton; great-grandson, Ryan Mason; brothers, Ennis, Lowell, Fred and Phillip Pennington; sisters, Ermal French and Joyce Hyde.
Memorials have been established with Heartland Hospice or Gideon’s International or Victory Worship Center all in care of the funeral home.

Marvin L. Winter, 92, retired farmer and cattle-, man of Virgil, Kan., went to be with his Heavenly Father on July 28, 2013.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
He was born to George K. and Radial (Lipps) Winter on Dec. 17,1920 in LeHigh, Kan.
Survivors include: his wife Anita of 64 years; brothers, Lavern of Virgil, Don (Bert), Charles (Kay) all of Augusta; sisters, Dorothy (JW) Tomlinson of Wellsville, Barbara Conyers of Wichita, Norma (Walt) Lowke of Plano, Texas, and Delores (Bill) Long of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Floyd; his parents; brother, Orwin; sister, Erma Thompson.
