46, AUGUSTA
Scott Alan Pfeiffer, 46, of Augusta, passed away Friday, Oct.25, 2013 in Lindsborg.
Memorial service 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Scott was born in Wichita, on Jan. 17,1967, to Sharon Hannora (Redding) and Stanford Loyd Pfeiffer. He was a self-employed ceramic tile setter owning Contemporary Tile and Marble and recently working for Pill Repair and Fabrication as an iron fabricator.
Survivors include: his parents of Augusta; brother, Dennis Pfeiffer of Augusta; sister, Suzanne Watkins of Tryon, Okla.; niece, Leanna Bylan; great niece Lacy Renae Bylan; and a cousin, Donna Coulter of Wichita.


Fern Timmons
89, AUGUSTA

Dola Fern Timmons, 89, passed away Sunday, Oct. 27,2013, at Lakepoint of Augusta.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. j to 6 p.m. and visitation with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 1,2013, at the Augusta First United Methodist Church, 2420 North Ohio St. Interment will follow in Green Valley Cemetery, in Furley, Kan.
Fern was born July 3, 1924, to George Clinton and Goldie Mae (Folk) Long in Oroville, Calif. She graduated from Douglass High School in 1942. She was united in marriage to Gerald ’’Tim" Timmons on Aug. 29, 1957. Fern was a homemaker and stay at home mother. She loved to sew, crochet, knit and embroider.
Survivors include: her sons, Ronnie (Sandy) McCune of Wichita, David (Linda) McCune of Augusta, Terry (Connie) Timmons of Burleson, Texas; daughter, Kathy (Brian) Kumpan of Amarillo Texas; sister, Eunice Humbolt of Mulvane; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Fem was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Gary Timrions and a brother, Floyd Long.
Memorials have been established with the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.

Lawrence R. Chance
96, DERBY

Lawrence R. Chance, 96, retired engineer technician for Boeing, Derby, passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Tuesday; funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, both at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby.
Larry was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy. He loved life and the outdoors, stayed active, and served the Salvation Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence, Sr. and May Chance; brothers, Ward and Charlie; son, Carl, and great-grandson, Douglas.
Survived by: his wife, Leska; children, David Chance and Lynn (Linda) Chance; grandchildren, Carmen Murray, Michelle Wilson, Craig Chance, Cody Ray Chance; greatgrandchildren, Portia, Brock, Courtney, C. J., Chad, and Sara-Anne; great-great-grandchildren, Lexi, Skyler, Zach, Matthew, and Brynlee; sister, Maryann Reuther.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Salvation Army, 1739 S. Elpyco St., Wichita, ICS 67213, and VFW Post #7253,101S. Baltimore, Derby, KS 67037

Max Courtney
22, AUGUSTA

Max Broden Courtney, 22, Augusta, passed away Saturday,Oct. 26,2013.
Memorial service 7 p.m.Wednesday, Oct.30,2013, at Courtney Headley
Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Max was born in Ponca City, Okla.on Oct. 17,1991, to Angela Dawn Courtney and Larry Edward Courtney. He attended cooking school with neighbor and friend Matt Childers, and worked part time with his dad at Budget Pest Control. He planned to attend Haskell Indian Nation University in the spring semester.
He is survived by: parents; his son, Carter Wayne Courtney and Carter’s mother Z'andria Ring; grandparents, Tom and Pat Courtney of Ponca City, Okla, and David and Mary Mudgett of Slick, Olda.; brother, Bron Overbey and wife April of Fayetteville, Ark.; sisters, Farah Parker of Ponca City, Hailie Courtney of Ponca City, Brittney Bostick and husband Josh of Lowell, Ark., Mia Courtney of Lawrence, Kan.; nieces and nephews, Ethan Overbey, Alexander Fox, Kassidy Courtney, Emma and Brennan Bostick, Damon Smith, Cier-ra and Thomas Callahan; aunts and uncles, Teresa Courtney, Sharon Shan, Linda Courtney, David Courtney (Dana), David Mudgett (Candice), Brett Mudgett (Christy), Alecia Percifril (Adam); cousins, Carrie and Lee Kirkes, Stephanie and Mike Wilder, Lucas Springer, Bridgett Courtney, Ashlyn and Joe Ewy, Alyssa, Amanda, and Brendon Mudgett, Ian, Evan and Aiden Mudgett, Brody, Braily and Braden Perci-ful; second cousins,
Austin and Paige Kirkes, Jacob and Victoria Wilder, Maddox Ewy, Sunni Shan; and many friends and extended fam-ily.
Max was saved and baptized at Hope Community Church by Pastor Steve Weldon in 2000. Max loved music, Oklahoma Sooner football and video games.
Memorials maybe made to Carter Wayne Courtney in care of Headley Funeral Chapel.
