George Neves, Jr.
60, AUGUSTA

Heaven received another angel when George E. Neves, Jr., 60, of Augusta,
passed away on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013.
A celebration of hislife will be held at a later date.
George was a fire fighter and EMT in El Centro, Calif, and moved to Augusta in 1999- He was an all-around nice guy and will be forever missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carolyn and George E. Neves, Sr.; aunt, Clara Neves; and son-in-law, Michael Shaul.
Survivors include: his wife, Kim Neves; best friend, George Adams; children, George E.
Neves, III, Autumn Neves, Heather Shaul, Brandy Binggeli; ex-wife, Kay Neves; grandchildren, Dillon, Arinne, and Joseph Neves,
Braiden and Maddux Shaul, and Caleb and Ashley Binggeli; many friends.





Burma Stanford
86, TOWANDA

Burma Stanford, 86, of Towanda, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013.
No visitation. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4,
2013, at Dunsford Funeral Home Chapel. An additional service and interment will take place later in the week at Pe-ques Funeral Home, Saltillo, Miss.
Burma was born Sept. 21,1927, to George and Zera (Whittaker) Stanford in Saltillo, Miss. He married Elsie Barnett on Oct.18,1947, and she preceded him in death on June 30,1977- He retired from Blue Bell Manufacturing in Industrial Maintenance. After retirement he had his own yard maintenance business. He enjoyed fishing and loved working in his garden. Burma married Evelyn Smith on July 8,1980, in Tupelo, Miss.
His survivors include: his spouse, Evelyn Stanford of Towanda; daughter, Carolyn "Sue" Thomas of Towanda; grandchildren, Cindy (Dyke) Hicks of Corpus Christi, Texas, Melissa (Jeramy) Behrens of Towanda; step-grand-son, James Scruggs of Jackson, Miss.; greatgrandchildren, Ashton Thomas, Chad, Brett and Breeanna Courtney; 3 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by is parents; first wife; nine siblings; step-grandson, Lemuel Scruggs.

Franziska Altenhofen, 90

Franziska E. Altenhofen, 90, Augusta, passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 Rosary 6 pm Wednesday at Headley Funeral Chapel, with visitation following 8p.m. Funeral mass 10a.m. Thursday, Nov 7 St James Catholic Church Augusta
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery Augusta.
Franziska was born in Korrig, Germany on May 6, 1923, to the late Barbara (Schuh) and Johann Peter Lutz. She was a homemaker. On Nov. 14,1946 in Ayl, Germany she married Franz Altenhofen. He preceded her in death in 1991.
She is survived by: sons, Joe Altenhofen (Billie) of Leon, and Gary Altenhofen (Jeri Brown) of Augusta; daughters, Betty Mitchell (Steve) of Augusta, Sue Benton (Bud) of Augusta; brother, Emil Lutz of Saarburg, Germany; sisters Sanni Madert of Saarbug, Germany, Anchen Deppe of Saarburg, Germany, Maria Schneider, of Korrig, Germany, Lem Sauerwein, of Wichita; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
Memorial donations to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice 313 S. Market Wichita, Kansas 67202.
