Wanda Stephens, 90
Wanda Lee (Stearman) Mattix Dennett Stephens, 90, of Augusta, passed away Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013 in Augusta.
Visitation 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday and service 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Howard.
Wanda was borni in Wichita, on Aug. 29, 1923, to the late Maxie Slyh (Richards) and Henry Guy Stearman. She was a homemaker and worked as a cashier for a clothing store and grocery store. Wanda had been a long time member of Eastern Star in Howard and Clearwater.
She is survived by: son, Jon Mattix and wife Barbara; daughter-in-law, Anita Mattix; step sons, Donald, Harold, Gary and Ronald Stephens; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren and 14 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clinton Mattix, Robert Dennett and Robert Stephens; son, Jeffery Mattix; brothers, Glenn, Gail, Melford and Guy Stearman Jr.; sisters, Mable Dadis-man, Ila Lee Stearman and Maurice Gwendola Peterson; and a great granddaughter, Dannielle Mattix. Memorial donations to Order of Eastern Star in Howard and Clearwater.

James W. Pence, 65, Augusta, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013.
Visitation this evening 6-8 p.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta and service 10:30 a.m.
Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at First Christian Church,
Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
James was born in Topeka, on Feb. 7, 1948 to Ralph Emerson and Thelma Louise (Ray) Pence. Jim worked for the city of Augusta as a electric lineman until an accident caused his paralysis. His paralysis did not keep him from volunteering for the Wichita Fire Department, Sedgwick County Fire and Butler County Emergency Management, where he devoted much of his time. On July 10, 2009 in El Dorado he married Denise (Apel) Lindahl Pence who survives him.
He is also survived by: a daughter, and brother, Bill Pence.
In lieu of flowers memorials to: Wichita Fire Department Attn: Vicki Forbes 455 N. Main, 11th Floor Wichita, KS 67202.

Ellen Goeken Brockman, 55, of Augusta, bom Nov. 25,1957 passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013.
There will be a graveside service for family and friends at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Ellen was employed at House of Schwan in Wichita since 1999-
She is survived by: her loving husband Jeff, of Augusta; daughters, Dylan and Breanna, sons* in-law, Joseph and Jesse; granddaughter, Brynn; parents-in-law, Mike and Mary; sister-in-law, Tracy; brother-in-law, Jerry, sister-in-law, Genelle; niece, Meredith; nephews, Travis and Jason.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Goeken and Mary Goeken Mears, and her brothers Jay and Eric Goeken.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
A celebration of Ellen's life will be held from 1-3:30 p.m. on Dec. 7, 2013, at House of Schwan, 3636 N. Comotara, Wichita, Ks.
