AUGUSTA
Lena McPherson, 79

Heaven received a beautiful treasure. Lena McPherson went home to be with Jesus, Monday,
Dec. 9,2013 at her home near Augusta.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday,
Dec. 12,2013, at Headley Funeral Chapel.
Lena was born June 29, 1934 in Brownfield, Texas, to John Olen Lanier and Mary Evie Snelson Lanier. Lena was united in marriage to Billy Guy McPherson on Nov. 5,1951 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Three children were born to this union.
Lena and her husband Bill had a well drilling business that took them to various places to live throughout their lives. Besides Augusta, the couple also lived in Salem, Missouri and Cortez, Colorado where they still have many dear friends and fond memories.
Lena was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant sister.
Lena is survived by: husband, Billy Guy McPherson; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Penny McPherson of Winfield; daughter and son-in-law, Genie and Russell Brazell of Augusta; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kaye McPherson ofWinfield; 16; 39 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Naomi Lanier of Bartlesville, Okla.; a host of nieces and nephews; and many, many very dear friends.
Lena will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Lena’s great faith in Jesus carried her through her life. She exemplified grace and was an amazing example to all who knew her. She always had a beautiful smile and gave the best hugs ever.

Brylei Lavon Njeri Thindiu

Brylei Lavon Njeri Thindiu, 2 month and 2 day-old infant daughter of Lenny and Stephanie Thindiu, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 at home in the arms of her parents.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13,2013, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Brylei was born in Wichita on Oct. 8, 2013.
She is survived by her parents; brothers, Brycen Thindiu of the home and Carter Behnke of Olathe; grandparents, Sherry and Wesley Kester of Augusta, Mary Murimi of Kenya, and Robert Thindiu of Olathe; great grandparents, Pam and Kenny Fields, and Sharron and Dale Farmer; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials can be made to Headley Funeral Chapel to help with expenses.
