Valerie J. Smith, 58

Valerie Jean (Moore) Smith, 58, Augusta, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan.10, 2014.
Viewing 1-6 p.m. with family present 4-6 p.m.
Sunday, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta; funeral service at 2 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 13,2014, at First Baptist Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
Valerie was born in Wichita on Sept. 6, 1955, to Beverly (Tyler) Applegate and the late Gary Moore, Sr. She worked as a secretary at First Southern Baptist Church for over 20 years and she was a homemaker. On Sept. 8,1973 in Augusta she married Mark Smith, who survives her.
She is also survived by: her mother, Beverly of Augusta; daughters, Erin Chinn and Amanda Johnston, both of Augusta; brothers, Steve Moore and wife Carla, and Gary Moore, Jr., all of Augusta; sisters, Angie Moore of California and Brenda Lantz and husband Bill of Wichita; grandchildren, Bailey Chinn, Madison Foy, Brittney Foy, Macey Chinn, and Elijay Foy.
She was preceded in death by her brother Mike Moore.
Memorial donations to First Southern Baptist Church Youth Group or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.

Salena Alexandra Lovette, 43, Augusta, passed away Friday, Jan. 10,2014.
Memorial service 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Grace Point Church, Augusta Salena was born in Alert Bay, British Columbia,
Canada on Feb. 15,1970.
She is survived by: husband, Kurt Payton of Augusta; parents, Annie and Edsel Lovette; grandmother, Vemel Lovette of Florence; son, Zach Veal of Concordia; daughter Alexandra L Veal of Augusta; step sons, Zach Payton, Kyle Payton, Jake Payton all of Augusta; brother, Stephen Lovette, of Augusta; grandson Brody Veal; and mother-in-law, Sandra Payton of Augusta.

Philip Hollingsworth, 31, Augusta, son of Pastor Steve and Rachel Hollingsworth passed away, Sunday, Jan. 12,2014.

G. Loel Smith, 63 Douglass, passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2014.
Closed casket visitation 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at Headley Funeral Chapel,
Augusta and service 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15,
2014, at First Baptist Church, Augusta. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Loel was born in Burlington, Kan. on Oct. 23, 1950, to the late Iris Claudine (Garrett) and Glenn Leslie Smith. He was a cattleman and lumber salesman at Star Lumber for many years, and also for Mill Creek Lumber Company. On June 21, 1967 at the First Baptist Church in Augusta he married Terri Elaine Mead. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Lindola Long and Glenda Smith.
He is survived by fiance Julie Kelly, sons, Levi Smith, and Ryan Smith (Katie); daughters Stacy Smith (Chris), and Brandy Davis (jerry) of Augusta; sisters Schlene Davis of Augusta and Leesa Walker (Mike) of ElDorado; grandchildren, Coty (Lindsey), Bailey and Savanna Smith and Ally and Garrett Davis.
Memorial donations to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.

Philip R. Hollingsworth, 31

Philip Hollingsworth, 31, Augusta, passed away, Sunday, Jan. 12,2014.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18; memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, both at Central Baptist Church, 7421 SW Church Rd. Augusta. (Take exit 57 off the Kansas Turnpike and go east on 21st).
Philip was born Nov. 2, 1982 to Steve and Rachel (Slawson) Hollingsworth in Overland Park, Kas. He graduated from Elwood High School in Elwood, Kan. Philip worked at Zorro's, a local Augusta restaurant. He enjoyed theatre, poetry, writing, drawing and has a passion for missions. He was able to travel to Nicaragua, Mexico and Alaska on mission trips.
His survivors include: his paretns Steve and Rachel Hollingsworth; brothers Nathan and wife Deanne Hollingsworth of Andover, Micah and wife Camille Hollingsworth of Atichison; niece Maive daughter of Micah and Camille.
Philip was preceded in death by his grandparents and a sister, Dinah.
Memorials have been established with the Central Baptist Church in care of Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta
