Fred L McMillen, 80
Fred L. McMillen, 80, Augusta, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 at Hany Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.
Visitation with family 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. There will be no viewing or service. A private family interment will take place at Atlanta Cemtery, Atlanta, Kan.
He was born Feb. 17,1933 in Argonia, Kan., to the late Cleo Dessie (Covall) and Roy Owen McMillen.
Fred served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a school administrator for Bluestem (Leon) and Burden schools. On July 3, 1955 he married Barbara Shinn in Russellville, Ark. She preceded him in death on Sept. 2, 2012.
A granddaughter, Amy Biddle also preceded him in death.
He is survived by: daughters, Pam Alexander and husband Rick of Meade, Phyllis Brewer and husband Harold of Augusta, Paula Biddle and husband Tod of Hermitage, Tenn.; sister, Laura Davidson and husband Hoyt of Harrison, Ark.; 7 grandchildren; 6 greatgrandchildren.
Memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy.

Nathan Hale Meyer, 90
Nathan Hale Meyer, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 29,2014, at Lakepoint of Augusta.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 ei.m., with funeral service following at
Andover Baptist Church, 1043 S. Andover Rd. in Andover, on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta, using the 12th St. entrance.
Nathan was born March 22,1923, to Phillip Jacob and Susie (Rutherford) Meyer in Marshfield, Mo. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1942, and received his master’s degree in education from Emporia State
University. He received his Master's of Divinity from Midwestern Seminary.
Nathan served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army/Air Force. He married Mildred Marie Holcomb on June 20,1942, also in Marshfield. Nathan was a Baptist minister and served churches in Hopewell, Mo. in the 1950’s and Leon Baptist Church in the 1960’s. He was also an insurance salesman. He enjoyed woodworking, reading and being with his family.
Survivors include: his sons, Frederick Meyer of Worden, 111. and Keith Meyer (Shelly) of Augusta; sister, Pearl Wingrove (Arnold) of Allentown, Pa.; four grandchildren, Ryan Meyer (Kari) of Wichita, Nathan Meyer of Columbia Missouri, Tiffany Gillespie (James) of Augusta and Tara Meyer of Columbia, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse, Mildred Meyer, three sisters and four brothers.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with First Baptist Church Counseling Center, 1501 State St., Augusta, KS 67010.

Eldon H. Laubhan, 81
Eldon H. Laubhan, 81, Augusta, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014.
Private family graveside service at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hillsboro. A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Christ Lutheran Church, Augusta.
Eldon was born in Lehigh, Kan. on Nov. 3,1932, to the late Emma (Haas) and Henry H.Laubhan. He served in the U.S. Army, and he retired as an accountant at Beech. On March 21,1957 at Hillsboro he married Garnette Lais who survives him.
He is also survived by: son, Murray Laubhan and wife Rachel of Pratt; daughter- in-law, Karen Laubhan of Augusta; brother, Dennis Laubhan and wife Martha of Manhattan; sister, Phyllis Neuenschwander of Hillsboro; mother- in-law Helen Lais of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Hope and Caleb.
He was preceded in death by son Marc, and brother Loren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Center Drive, St. Louis, MO 63141.
