Agnes, D. Newbrey, 91
Agnes Darline Newbrey, 91, Towanda, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 at Lakepoint Rehabilitation Center.
A celebration of Agnes’s life will be at 3 p.m., Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Interment will follow in Towanda Cemetery.
Agnes was born on Sept. 16, 1922, the daughter of Wilbur E. and Martha Grace (Davis) Arasmith. She graduated from Downs High School and received a M A. from Ft. Hays University. She was an English teacher and taught school for 21 years at West High in Wichita. Agnes enjoyed swimming a half mile each day until the age of 83 years. She was a member of Faith Christian Church and attended First Christian Church in El Dorado.
On Oct. 11, 1944, Agnes and Orel Newbrey were united marriage in Osborne, Kan.
Those who survive include: her husband, Orel of Towanda; daughter Martha Treweeke of Towanda; son, Andrew Newbrey of Towanda; sister, Betty Arasmith of McCook, Neb.; three grandchildren, Jason, Ashley, Ben; four great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Tony, Zane, Lance.

Cliff M.Tillett, 82
Cliff M. Tillett, 82, of Augusta, passed away Wednesday, Feb.12, 2014 in Overland Park, Kan. due to complications following surgery.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb.16,2014, at the Augusta First Baptist Church.
Cliff was born in Rolla, Kan. on Feb. 7, 1932, to the late Ruth (Stanley) and Chet Tillett. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a high school math teacher and basketball coach for many years.
He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Augusta.
He is survived by: daughters, Michelle Poore and husband Jay of Augusta, Stephanie Mill of Independence, Mo., and Jamie Easum and husband Bryan of Roeland Park, Kan.; grandchildren, Jake (Alisha), Alexa, Colton, Bailey, and Jacob; and great-grandchildren, Kennadi, Brecken, and Addelyn.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Billye MacKinnon.
