Don D. Shackelford, 62
Don D. Shackelford, RT, ARRT, RDMS, RVT, 62, of Augusta, passed
2014, at the Via Christi St. Francis Burn Unit in Wichita, after burns he received in a house fire.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 17; service 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta.
Don was born in Harrison, Ark. on March 17,1951, to the late Nancy (Ferguson) Shackelford and William I. “Bill” Shackelford. He had served in the United States Navy.
Don was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Albert Pike Lodge, and a member of the Midian Shrine Oriental Band.
Don worked at Augusta Medical Complex from 1972 to 1982 in Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Ultrasound. He then worked for Galichia Medical Group from 1982 until 2005 in Diagnostic Ultrasound, as well as Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonography.
On Sept. 16,1972 in Wichita, he married Terry (Colby) Shackelford, who survives him.
He is also survived by: daughter, Stacey Shackelford of Augusta; son, Shawn Shackelford of Augusta; brother, Philip Shackelford and wife Joyce of Arkansas; sister, Levita Coley of Tulsa, Okla.; broth-er-in-law, Richard Colby and wife Terri of Augusta; sister-in-law, Wanda Shackelford of Wichita; sister -in-law, Trudy Gendreau and husband Lu of Phoenix, Ariz. ; sister-in-law, Toni, and husband Karl Roberts, of Yorktown, Va. and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother. William I. Shackelford Jr.
Memorial contributions maybe made to Via Christi St. Francis Burn Unit, American Cancer Society or Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy.
