Dee Lucas, 91

Dee Lucas, 91, of Augusta, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 in Augusta.
Rosary 5 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Funeral mass 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at St. James Catholic Church, Augusta. Graveside services St.» Rose Catholic Cemetery Mt. Vernon, Kan.
Dee was born in Mt. Vernon, on June 14, 1922, to the late Apalonia (Tim-barge) and Joseph Konecny. She was a nun and dietician for St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
She is survived by: sisters-in-law, Norma and Vernie Konecny; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lucas; brothers, Sylvester, Jerome, Joe and Eugene Kolecny; and sisters Marisela Meyer, Norma Green, and Mary Ann Albert.

Shirley A. (Bradley) Belford, 59, of Augusta, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014.
Viewing 1-8 p.m., with visitation 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 9; funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 10,2014, all at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta. Interment at the Winfield Veterans Cemetery.
Shirley was born Feb. 1,1955, to Earl and Glorene (Houpt) Bradley in Wichita. She was united in marriage to Wilfred ’Willie” Belford on Aug. 24,1974, in Augusta. Shirley worked in retail at Ed’s IGA in Augusta and Rose Hill. She enjoyed gardening, reading and had a special place in her heart for taking care of others.
Her survivors include: her son, Troy and wife Mackenzie Belford of Or-fordville, Wis.; brothers, Larry and wife Vaughnie Of Buena Vista, Ark., Truman and wife Sharon Bradley of Pensacola, Fla., Danny and wife Debbie Sproul of Augusta; sisters, Patsy and husband Mike of Leon, Ruth and husband Gene Bazquez of Augusta; sister- in-law, Pat Bradley of Wichita.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wilfred ’’Willie” Belford; brothers, Mike Sproul and Ronnie Bradley.
Memorials have been established with the Kansas Humane Society in care of the funeral home.

Wayne E. Berry, 72

Wayne E. Berry, 72, of Augusta, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014, at home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, with Rev. John Bassett presiding. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, with full military honors.
Wayne was born in Waseca, Minn, on Aug. 30,1941, to the late Wilma (Atkinson) and Lambert Berry. He served and -retired from the U.S. Air Force. Wayne ' served in Germany and during the Vietnam War. He also worked as a mechanic at bowling alleys and was a guard for the Kansas Dept, of Corrections.
Wayne enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Holiday Bowl Recycled Teens Bowling Team and he was also a member of the Augusta Memorial VFW Post 6746. On June 19, 2010 he married Karen (Jackman) Berry in Augusta, and she survives him.
He is also survived by: a son, Damon Wayne Berry and wife Kristy of Allen,
Texas; brothers, Allen Berry and Dale Strattman; sisters, Paula Mendenhall,
Pam Knowles, Susan Harkreider, Cheryl V Forte and Cindy Darboro; grandchildren, Brittney and Kayla; aunts, Lori Monroe and Audrey Iverson; and numerous nieces, nephew and cousins.
