Jerry L. Carson, 75
Jerry L. Carson, 75, of Augusta, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014 at Victory Falls, Andover.
Services will be held at a later date.
He was born Aug. 19,1939 in El Dorado, to Francis Faye (Jones) and Gerald Edward Carson.
He was united in marriage to Clara McNair in El Dorado. She preceded him in death in 2005.
Jeriy lived all of his life in Augusta. He served in the U.S. Army, worked at Beech Aircraft, and also served on the Leon USD 205 School Board. Jerry retired from the Augusta Post Office as a rRur-al mail carrier in 1994. Jerry loved to fish and hunt, also enjoyed being a Kansas Hunter’s Education Instructor.
Survivors include: sons, Clint (Lisa) Carson of Pasadena, Texas, and Gary Car-son, of Augusta; daughter, Kathy (Bill) Wolf of Towanda; sister, Linda (Tom) Schmidt of Towanda, Ks; brothers, Mike Carson and Tommy Carson, both of Augusta; 12 grandchildren, and 10 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronnie Carson.

Byron K. Catlett, 82
Byron Keith Catlett, 82, of Augusta, passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2014.
Memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Byron was born to the late Ralph and Mildred (Peters) Catlett on Aug. 31,
1932. He married the late Phyllis Catlett in Des Moines, Iowa on April 8,1956. Byron was a Korean War Veteran and spent
many years of his life in the oil field, where he eventually started his own cable tool business, Catlett Drilling. In his retired life, Byron enjoyed fishing many lakes, rivers, and ponds.
He is survived by: three children, Mike (Deanna) Catlett, Curtis (Paula) Catlett, and Tammy (Tim) Berndsen, all of Augusta; sister, Ralpha Olsen of Harlan, Iowa; grandchildren, Jason Catlett, Samantha Catlett, Kyla Catlett, Crystal Bain, Sarah Feist, Tony Berndsen and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
Donations may be made to the Veterans Administration.

Caroll A. Rogers, 71
Caroll Anne Rogers,71,passed away in El Dorado on Monday,October 27,2014.
Visitation will be 1-7 p.m., with family present from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31; funeral services will be at 1 p .m. on Saturday, Nov. 1 , 2014, both at the Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta. Interment will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery.
Caroll was born Feb. 6,1943, to John and Beatrice (Vaughn) McDaniel in Leon, Iowa. Caroll attended Augusta High School. She was united in marriage to Louie Rogers, Sr. on May 15,1966, in Liberal, Kan. They celebrated 20 years of marriage until Louie’s passing. Caroll was a custodian for both Andover and Augusta school districts and sold real estate in Augusta, as well as California throughout her life. Caroll stayed busy raising her 5 children and being a “Gma” to grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed being with them.
Her survivors include: her children, John and wife Lori Rogers of El Dorado, Andy and wife Jackie Rogers of Riverside Cali., Paula and husband Mario Tomassian of Riverside, Calif., Louie Jr. and wife Denise Rogers of Beaumont, Calif., Timothy “Tim” Rogers of Fontana, Calif.; brother, Don and wife Sue McDaniel of Princeton, Kan.; sister, Janice McDaniel of El Dorado; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren
Caroll was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Ronald McDaniel; and son, Jackie Taber.
Memorials have been established with the National Kidney Foundation and the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
