AUGUSTA
Richard ‘Rick’ Hiser, 86
Volney Richard "Rick" Hiser, 86, of Augusta, passed away on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday,
Feb. 6, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Augusta. Internment will take place at the Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Rick was born on Oct. 2, 1928 in Anadarko, Okla. to Eubulus and Juanita (Smith) Hiser. He married Betty Edel-man on July 17, 1959. Rick was a tool and dye maker for Boeing for 18 years. He also worked for Parks Chevrolet and other Chevy dealers for 60 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Camping, fishing, holidays were a favorite hobby of Rick's, especially Christmas and Halloween.
His survivors include: his wife Betty, of 55 years; children, Niki and her husband Bruce Gass of Wichita, Richard and his wife Ratree Hiser of Wichita, Michael and his wife Debra Hiser of Augusta, Steven and his wife Aidia Hiser of El Dorado, Terry Hiser of Augusta, Tim and his
wife Sharon Hiser of Wichita, and Christy and her husband Richard Wilson of Augusta; 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leon Hiser; sister, Ruth Johnson; daughter-in-law, Tammy Hiser; and his step-father who raised him, Ross Bebout.
Memorials have been established with the Harry Hynes Hospice Inpatient Care, in care of Dunsford Funeral Home & Crematory.
